Newly Released Naruto

Montblanc have released a new line called 'Naruto'. I'm too old to know what this is, but it looks like it might be Anime.

There's a new orange ink, pen pouch, rollerball and 146. The 146 has an interesting nib design, a nice orange highlight at the base of the section, an orange clip and silver accents. The cap also has an orange design on it, which looks a bit busy to me. It's not for me, but some may be interested.

From Wikipedia:

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.”

incredible. for those interested, it is now online. thanks for the tip, Uncial. If they'd really been paying attention to timing perhaps they would have launched Bleach to time with the 1000-year bloodwar arc instead of Naruto...

Compared to the anime-themed pens from Japanese companies like Sailor's gundam pens, this isn't all so impressive, though the art on the leathereware is nice.

I'm passing on this pen. I'd be interested to see an ink review

~ Fritz Schimpf in Tübingen, Germany has confirmed that Naruto line pens and the ink are currently available in their shop.

Although not yet posted on the Fritz Schimpf website, they may be ordered by request.

Completely don't understand the connection between Naruto and Montblanc. I am a fan of Montblanc and almost always purchase their new product [within reason based on price]. But this is the first time I am staying away.  This feels like I have stepped into a Akihabara anime merchandise store.

The brand sells nicely, and this one would likely add a potentially new catchment area and potential profits. Perhaps it is meant to attract a set of anime fans to the customer base. I do not see much reason though for the traditional customer of MB 149 or 146 to be attracted.

Just my sense though

I could deal with Montblanc × Gundam, Montblanc × Star Wars (but of course Platinum Pen and Cross have already done that one), Montblanc × Battlestar Galactica, … but Naruto? I'd have thought Montblanc × Death Note would come first. Is a Montblanc × Hello Kitty on the cards?

the Naruto ink looks a lot like the MB Red Fox.. which coincidentally (or not) alludes to the Nine-tail fox in the anime.

How about a Pokémon series?  Think of how long it would take to go through that lineup.

I really want a Studio Ghibli collab now, they did a collection with loewe (A luxury fashion house)

I think MB might be trying to get a hold of the Japanese pen market, it feels so random.

Has anyone in the US managed to get some of the Montblanc x Naruto ink? I tried looking, but was unable to identify any retail sources available in the US.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
