Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0

Anyone picking one of these up?  The resin choices aren't too inspiring (to my taste), two have been used by Tibaldi and one appears similar to cracked ice auroloides.  I'm excited to try out the "La Fenice" nib and the ink window is a welcome change.

I purchased the first release of this model which was a limited edition for a Florentine pen shop. You can see my comments in the Leonardo Photo topic. Here's a sample photo:

I did order one of the numbered edition MZG 2.0 pens - the one in "Angel Skin." (I do hope the material is made from naturally shed angel skin.)

IMO, this model has a lot to like, but I do agree that the materials other than the Angel Skin are uninspiring. I assume and hope that additional materials will be used in future releases of the MZG 2.0.  The fact that other manufacturers have used a material doesn't bother me. It's the combination of pen quality and material aesthetics that drive my purchases.

I did see that model in "ocean cenote" resin but didn't pull the trigger due to the sole choice of Jowo nibs.  It's very nice and I do not typically care for the swirled resin models.  Nice pick up!

I don't mind the reuse of material but just made note of some observations. I'll be picking up the "sea anemone" model with Leonardo's phoenix nib in extrafine.  Hopefully it'll be a keeper.

I'm trying to buy something much larger at the moment.  And I have 42 of them now.  🤣

Ah, well. Exotic is as exotic does, to coin a cliché.

Hmmm --- You made me count my Leonardos. I have 39 Leonardo fountain pens, with one more on order. And I have one Leonardo ballpoint pen.

Happy writing!

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. Are you getting a gold nib (made in-house) or a steel JoWo nib?

I'm picking up the in house gold nib.  I'll comment back when it arrives, likely within 1-2 weeks.

Looking forward to it.  I have an inhouse Stub and it's been great so far.

yea none of the material in this new batch calls out to me. But I'm sure there'll some future release that catch my attention. Also a Furore 2.0'd be nice.

My Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0 "Baoboab" arrived from Stilo & Stile two days ago and in my eyes it's a gorgeous pen!

Received mine today.  Very pleasant writer with generous flow.  Mine came pre-tuned and is very smooth with a hint of feedback.  The line thickness is not what I expect out of an extra fine but some experimentation with ink and paper combinations is likely needed.  It writes comparable to an Aurora #6 medium or Montblanc #8 fine.

I also noted that the build quality has improved over the Momento Magico I have.  Particularly, the cap threads are smoother and capping/uncapping is more seamless.  The piston does need some grease though (again), but I'm familiar with the process.  Anyway, I'm happy with the purchase so far!

Mine arrived last week. I knew it was going to be on the large side but I had no idea just how large - it's huge! Debating whether to return/exchange it before too much time passes. It's beautiful but I'll never use it.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

My MZG 2.0 in "Angel Skin" resin has landed!

The nib is broader than my ideal for everyday writing, but it is crisp enough, quite juicy and very smooth writing.

Very nice!  I measured mine against a MB149 after I adjusted the LMZG2.0 nib and feed.  I increased the distance between the tip of the nib and feed to reduce flow.  They pull out fairly easily although you'd expect them to unscrew.
