Flying Tiger travellers' style notebook

Flying Tiger Copenhagen are selling a travellers' style notebook, for the princely sum of £4, and comes with 3 notebooks - 1 dot, 1 lined and one square. I didn't see any refillls.

The leather(?) Cover is rudimentary.  A rectangle of material with elastic bands to hold everything together.

The notebooks come with heavy kraft covers and there is a pouch at the front, and impractical card holder at the back.

However, the paper in the notebooks is very fountain pen friendly. No bleed through as of yet - maybe a little stiff, but at the price, very good.

I also bought a couple of their case bound notebooks. £4 each, 70 GSM, but looking OK for some do ink.

Thank you for sharing this. I’d be interested, except I decided to stop buying leather notebooks.

Yes, that's it. I put "leather" - I suspect that it probably isn't - it is probably fake, but there's no label to say what it is.

At that price I would seriously doubt they are authentic leather. It could be PU "leather" as most Chinese "leather" notebooks use, or perhaps some different fiber made material. Surface tact should help get a feeling for what it is made of.

Oh my, that cost me an hour just enjoying the website.  :)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I bought orange elastic, and I have a lot of Buttero, Pueblo and Minerva Box leather. I was thinking of making a typical Traveller cover but have the left side have a card slot, things like that.

A couple of days ago I happened upon one of their B&M shops. I had taken a few days off and visited to Lugo in the North of Spain. Came in looking for these, which they didn't have, and came out with two sets of two Kraft paper pocket notebooks at $2 the pack of two. These are cream colored paper, with thick Kraft paper covers and black fabric knitted spine. Sheets seem glued. The label says they are made in China, and I haven't tested any yet.

I got them to fit in a leather notebook sleeve for 9x14cm notebooks so I can take them when traveling. They'll do for my sleeve, but I don't think they are good for a traveler notebook (may fit in a passport-sized one, but since sheets seem to be glued, they may not take well to the elastic band).

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
