Will the vac 700r accept a Jowo nib unit housing from flexible nib factory?

I am trying to find a pen for a fnf Jowo #6 housing and wondering if the vac 700r could accept such a housing.

The nib I am using is a sailor 21k from a cross peerless.

(I have tried Ranga already but can never get a pen that's comfortable for me. Tried multiple.)

Thanks!

Leonardo Officina's entry level Momento Zero pens use Jowo #6. I'm not 100% sure a standard Jowo housing would screw in, but I do expect so.

Thanks sansenri. The truth is I am also trying to spend less than 80-90$ on a pen body if possible. I am a little tempted in trying the new Ranga samurai but seriously I have wasted so much money on Ranga up to now that I should really only buy what I can try ahead of time.

Have you tried the Ranga Zayante from Peyton Street Pens?

I don't have small hands, but I do find the majority of Ranga pens to be too large for comfortable use, and while I don't own a TWSBI 700, I think it might be more comparable in size to it than other Ranga models. In comparison, the Zayante is more comparable in size to the Pelikan M800, MB 146, and Leonardo MZ that I do have.

The Zayante is a Peyton Street Pens exclusive model that accepts standard JOWO #6 housings and can be purchased without a nib unit for a price of $62–$77 depending on the material it's made of, standard or premium.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the Premium Ebonite Zayante that I have is my favorite sub $100 pen.

This won't work for the Vac 700R, unfortunately.  The Vac 700r doesn't use Jowo style housing - the nib and feed are inserted directly into the section.  You might be able to insert the Sailor nib into the section using the TWSBI feed though...  I have also heard that Sailor 21k nibs can be inserted into PenBBS housings/feeds: https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/comments/iaoe08/penbbs_355_x_sailor_21k_nib_problem/

The fnf jowo #6 housing will only work with an eye dropper or piston filling system.  I have used the fnf housing + Sailor 21k nib combo with eyedroppered Franklin Christoph and Opus 88 pens - my only caveat is that the ink flow can be excessive (the sailor feed is wet to begin with, plus you're adding a much larger ink reservoir). In the end, the high ink flow rate wasn't for me and I ended up putting the nib back on the sailor pen.

For eyedropper pens, I prefer the Opus 88 option since there is a shut off valve, so the ink flow can be regulated a bit.  Here's a list of OPUS 88 pens that are compatible with Jowo #6 housings: https://www.jetpens.com/Opus-88-Fountain-Pen-Nib-JOWO-6-Fine/pd/31471/compatible?&f2=dc76533307a0f275108e40bfb24cc01e.

I know these are a bit higher than your price range, but you might be able to find them on sale or used. Pen Chalet has some of them on sale for <$100 plus you can use the Pen Addict discount to get a further 10% off.

Good luck!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
