Can Anyone Identify This Pen?

Misfit

Recommended Posts

I saw this pen on The Pen Addict blog. I asked there what model it was, but the poster did not answer.

I looked through an entire search of images of purple pen with daisies. No luck.

I hope someone here can identify the pen.  Or it would help to know the pen maker. I’d like to know the name and model. I put it through a photo app to isolate the pen  large.D65AD1B7-86E1-42EC-A0AE-D217C71DF07E.png.4a6dcd820013cff0a0d66b1cd725a00b.png

Yes, that would have been my assessment. The shape, clip a "seemingly" size fits my memory of the Acme rollerball which, in some cases came with a fountain pen conversion set up.

A grey day is really a silver one that needs Your polish!

Thank you for answering.

The cap band seems less wide. I checked the Acme site, but didn’t see this pattern. I looked at current and archived.

Is Acme the only company that makes this shape of pen?  I couldn’t think of any other.

Here’s one of my Acme pens for comparison.

I just looked through all the eBay listings. I guess no one wants to sell theirs.

It looks an awful lot like a Sherpa cover.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thank you @amberleadavis  I looked all through Acme Studios, images, the eBay listings for Acme, and other websites, and did not find the pen. I’ll check out Sherpa. The cap band looks more like the one I’m after.

I emailed Acme Studios, including the photo, to see if it was one of theirs. If it isn’t, I’m glad I let them know I owned 3 of their pens.

I looked at Sherpa covers. Didn’t find the pattern in the photo I posted. However, I saw other covers that looked a similar shade of purple. I guess I can stop wanting that item.

Well I learned something today. Sherpa Covers... Why?

Because it makes it so I can find MY SHARPIE and my beloved Pilot Precise Bold that otherwise just look cheap.

Maybe it keeps Sharpies from “walking away” from work desks.

  • 7 months later...

I decided to look at Sherpa covers again. I was going to get the daisy version @amberleadavis shared a photo of. I saw a more vivid purple with polka dots, and ordered it instead from what is primarily a magic shop website in the UK.  It’s called Polka Dots 2. In the second photo @amberleadavis posted, fifth from the right is evidently Polka Dots 1.  I really liked the one I originally asked about. But too late, though I think the background color will be the same.

Here is the website image of the Sherpa cover.

Of course, now for some reason I'm thinking back to a story I heard many many years ago.  The local SCA group here in Pittsburgh was doing a demo in some park, and there was a guy who couldn't go (he was a police dispatcher and was working).  So he decided to sort of prank the cops in his station, and sent them out to the park to check the demo out.  Well, our [then] baron (titular head of the group) had a sword on his belt in a scabbard.  And one of the cops apparently grabbed it and pulled it OUT of the scabbard -- and was then jumping back, going "IT'S REAL!" as Baron Len was jumping back the OTHER way, going, "It's SHARP!"  After that, the officers for the local chapter made a rule that all pointy objects (knives and swords) had to be "peace strapped" -- i.e., so have a tie or cover on sheaths around the hilt -- so this wouldn't ever happen again (possibly causing an injury in the process...).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

It is a tiny bit short, but usable and I love it.  Next time I am at the office I will try and take a picture.

@amberleadavis is it ok to ask why the Pilot Precise Bold is beloved?  If not, that’s ok.

It's a really bright set of colors, with a really smooth writing ball. It's the best of the pilot V5 features with an almost fountain pen like smoothness.
