Postcard Swap

Wonderful card received from you today, PaulK. So fast!

My “incoming” mail is now processed 2 counties away and as a few members on FPN can confirm, it takes longer for me to receive my mail than it once did. You must know people in high places at the Postal Service!

Received a fisherman comic card from tr3n1ty and a Palo Alto Cafe card from jleeper. Its so pleasant having your postcards in my mailbox instead of just bills and adverts.

Sent five out today. Jazztonight, inkypete, PaulK, waisun, and tr3n1ty should receive them within two weeks. Hopefully !

I have been out of the loop for a while, and have a shockingly large stack of postcards that has arrived over the past two months, and I wanted to acknowledge their receipt due to the long delay. As I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, replies will begin trickling back out shortly. (Bit of family crisis.) Thank you for your patience and understanding. I am very aware there are a large number of names that appear in this list more than once, and am deeply embarrased.

Postdated starting around July 8th with the last mailed September 22nd and arriving yesterday.... Toaster Pastry, Greg, ofpwriter (great photo btw), Raiche58, Andy, Rolard, DJMort, Red Dwarf, sdcurnow, Firefyter-EMT, Fredrydr, Robert S (from San Fran), orangesam, inkypete, Craig R, Okami, Vladimir from Moscow, Tawanda (you made me wish I had picked up the Diamine Damson that I put down now), PenHorse87, Raiche58, Splicer, Firefyter-EMT, Andy VB, Hari317, DJMort, steveh6883, jazztonight, steveh6883, penhorse87 (the seal made it and looked great!), Philip1209, inkypete, CraigR (Sorry about your guideline page :D ), penburg, eilu, eilu, GreenVelvet, hannah1.

To Greenvelvet I apologize profusely, I haven't sent your first card yet... I had something come up.

Off to stuff my overdue letter into an envelope and attack the stack :)

You sign up by expressing interest - as you just did. Anyone you see with whom you want to exchange postcards, PM them. Others will do the same. You're likely to get more takers if you fill out your profile a bit.

...and I have cards in the mail to all of you. The hardest part of this process is waiting on line at the post office for stamps!

I have been experiencing some feathering on some of the cards I've printed. But other than that, the Avery #8387 works okay.

Regards,

You can buy stamps online! (I hate waiting in line at the post office, too...)

I've been thinking about that. Thanks for the prompt--I'll do it!

(3 minutes later...)

I just went to the online store and got this message:

"The Postal Store is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause."

Hey, it's really just like going to the Post Office. :P

Cards out to inkypete and alibaba. Sorry about the delay, its been a hellacious week. I'm off to one of our local hillside resorts tomorrow for some family R&R. Hope to pick up some cards from there. Anyone else want to swap cards from Malaysia? PM me.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
