Hi everyone,

On Friday i received an envelope from another FPN'r and didn't notice until later that the stamps were missing. It appears that someone in the Canada Post Office is a collector. Made me curious as to whether anyone has had that happen to postcards they received?

Regards,

the Cat did it

Do the postcards come with a stamp?

I like stamps as well.

Anyone interested with a postcard swap from Kingston, Ontario, Canada! PM me..

I saw a calligraphy book with lots of beautiful writings used in letter addresses.

This will be a nice exercise.

Dear Hylian,

PM sent!

Kind regards,

vieuxcarre

I'm available for trading postcards from Lisbon (Portugal), or any other country that I might visit.

Since we're on a thread about postcards... How do all of you manage to write on postcards with fountain pen ink? Most postcards I bought in the past had very impermeable surfaces that hardly absorbed ink.

Dear Hannah,

I can't recall exactly, but I suspect that if the card was from a Louisiana Bayou that it was one of mine... Thank you for your kind note from Karlstadt!

Cheers,

vieuxcarre

I almost forgot to thank for these cards that arrived last week.

Vieuxcarre - was the card from Fort Bayou from you?

Jakespeed - I love waterfalls

PaulK - vintage card of US Capitol with great colors

Thanks!

Kind regards,

vieuxcarre

Sending cards out to pyotrkot and steveh6883 tomorrow.

Also - FYI - I may have been completely dyslexic and written my handle as tr1n3ty on some earlier postcards. Oops.

Anybody remotely interesting is mad, in some way or another.

I can't believe this. In an idle moment I thought I would flip through my record cards and add up how many postcards I have written and sent. I have now topped 300 cards sent around the world. Wow! That is a scary number. Off to the Post Office tomorrow to buy more stamps. First time I bought 5, then 10, then 20 and now I have to get 30 at a time. And the endless search for new and different postcards - thats a challenge.

Advanced Search results are overwhelming. If asked/answered many times, I apologize. If question is ludicrous, you may whisper among yourselves, wondering how a member cannot comprehend a simple concept.

I realize that 2 members may have a regular routine of exchanging postcards with each other, but generally, are postcards just exchanged once with any participating member? Ex: I'm in US, someone's in Australia... we exchange a postcard of our areas and move on?

A postcard to/from would be fabulous. Multiple postcards from me to Australian could become boring unless member planned to move to my area and really needed to see as much as possible before relocating.

I've always assumed 1 postcard to/from but thought I'd ask.

Just a note to anyone who PM'ed me regarding the postcards.

I will post them ASAP, but I'm moving house this week, which is earlier than planned, so it may be a week or 2 before I post anything, while I get everything back to normal.

Also my Lamy has been packed away, so there's no using that until I get to the new home.

PS: Anyone in the UK; is a standard 1st class stamp good enough to post worldwide? Or will I need to take it to the post office or buy a large letter stamp?

In the US there is a special international postcard rate, which is more than the standard 1st class domestic stamp. I assume the same is true for the UK. You can check at the Post Office and then buy a supply to keep you going for a while.

1st class is only valid for the UK. For cards to Europe it will be 56p and for the rest of the world 62p.

Enjoy!!

There is no consensus of opinion as to whether we swap once or multiple times. I think it is trial and error. If you sent and don't receive a reply, just let it be. And if you get a reply and you feel the need to respond you should do so.

Postcards need not be the typical touristy ones, they can represent anything, be it a piece of art or just a place of interest.

Happy swapping

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
