Jinhao with #5 nib

Which Jinhao fountain pen with a #5 nib exists where the nib can be exchanged as easily as the #6 nibs in Jinhao 159/X450/X750?

How about the Jinhao 5000?

Thank you

Jinhao 9026, Jinhao 51a open nib version, and of course the much loved and hated 992 , there are other lesser / student pen grade models from the Mfr taking no 5 nibs but I doubt those interest at all ..

If you are just after a solid pen body to host a certain no 5 nib , try Hero's non student / stationary range instead , generally I've found them better pens.

I have a number of #5 nibs and look for a nice pen to use them with.

Are all Jinhao friction-fit?

I tried to remove a nib of a Baoer 3035 the way I change the nib of a Jinhao X750. I failed.

The Baoer 3035 would be a nice pen to use with my spare nibs.

In my collection is one color missing unfortunately. I also found out that Hero sometimes licensed Baoer/Jinhao pens - the four on the left are Hero 3035.

My Jinhao 992 has a nib unit that can be screwed out, but I can also pull out just the nib pretty easily.

All of the newer model, AFAIK, use screw in nib unit but can easily had the nib pull off and be retrofitted with other no.5 friction fit style. The older models is all just friction fit.

Nicer pen bodies , well , as for them , it depends , would you want metal or Acrylic , or others , slim or fat .. most Chinese brand had pens that take no.5

How does the 3035 write?  Did it require any nib smoothing?  I have never noticed the Hero 3035.

The Jinhao 75 also uses a #5 friction fit nib.  Easy to remove nib & feed for cleaning.  On Amazon

the Jinhao 75 is called the Jinhao Chainmail.

They all are M - while my preferred size is Japanese F or Jowo EF. So, I more or less abandoned using them.

The Baoer is on the drier side. A bit of improving the ink flow would certainly not be bad.

But meanwhile, the Hongdian pens with wet F and EF nibs provide what I want.

Thanks. I find it so interesting how each FP collector has their very particular preference.  My preferred nib

is the med.  Will tolerate a fine/med.  Not partial to a true fine nor EF nib (larger handwriting).  Also enjoy writing

with the 1.1 stub nib.  Like yourself, definitely do not like dry nibs, however, love the fact I'm able to tweak a nib

to make it a wetter writer.

The 599 Lamy Safari style/tribute also uses a friction fit #5 nib and feed.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
