thanks, all. I'm glad it was a helpful post and I am sorry for my scribbles. this pen has inspired me to post more in 2 days than in many years. here is a quick trial of small lettering with my 3 "flexible" nibs on copy paper: Nakaya SF, pilot Falcon EF, and Montblanc Calligraphy. I'd say the calligraphy does very well on bad office paper. I did have my Nakaya nib adjusted for a very wet inkflow with light pressure. The Calligraphy is a versatile pen. I look forward to learning to use it and to seeing the posts by others with more practiced scripts.

I’ve just taken delivery of the Flex nib Solitaire in Burgundy with its odd packaging with stickers and flyers all indicating the curved nib release that was anticipated, but sadly did not eventuate.

 

I find the “Baby Flex” nib sits in between The Nakaya / Platinum SM and the 149C in terms of line variability with my normal terrible handwriting, but having said that - I did find that the 149C needed some time wearing in when I first used it 2 years of so ago. 
 

I am enjoying the degradation lacquer which goes well with the Champagne gold furniture, and I do hope that the Baby Flex with soften up with use over time.

Now, the flexible nib surely adds to the magic, but the color of this pen alone is simply phenomenal!! I would really like having a chance to see in the flesh.
