Hi PGC

Just a couple of things.

1- Any chance of a nib shot of your Mixy?

2- Every time you mention your CP1 with that gold nib I'm jealous.  I should have picked one up when they were less expensive.

3- Would love to see a pic of that Lamy Bronze with Wearingeul Brain rose gold shimmer.

Here are couple of pictures of the Mixy flighter, which is the predecessor of the 15/Jotter. It’s a Jotter with a cool clip- which I absolutely love. I added the link swatch/ writing of Lamy Bronze underneath.

very plain steel M nib

cool clip, very of its time, I think.

The LAMY gold nibs were really inexpensive at Endless Pens for a while, I think it was right before Mitsubishi bought LAMY. I missed out on the rose gold and am so sad about it. It’s worth keeping an eye out for a secondhand Studio or other pens that come with the gold Z nibs.

Just inked up my Nakaya long writer in Aki Tamenuri.   Bliss.  I don’t love medium nibs in general but the soft medium and light pen team up to make a true precision instrument.

Yeah, I was pretty PO'd about that.  And the fact that I heard from PAYPAL before I heard from *either* eBay *or* the vendor didn't exactly improve my mood....

And the worst part was that was the *only* seller in the US who had it listed, and the ONLY seller who claimed to have the pen who had 100% positive ratings.  Well, NOT ANY MORE....  And of course, for me?  The worst part is that I REALLY wanted the pen (it was a cool design).  It was almost worse than the time I got jerked around by a seller (also in NYC) who I'm not allowed to "name and shame" under the rules here for something that was (1) supposed to be SET (sorry, but *I* know where to look to find Parker date codes!); and (2) a graduation gift for my husband's niece when she graduated from high school as class valedictorian.  In that case I filed a dispute, which was adjudicated in my favor in a matter of hours (got to keep the "set" and got my money back) -- but was NOT allowed to give feedback as a result.  So in the second instance?  You bet your life I was providing "feedback" on that seller no matter WHAT eBay claimed -- because *I* wasn't the one who "cancelled" the transaction....

I hear you. Always let them know.

Purchased a great batch of pens 20 years ago and am thoroughly enjoying them as i approach my senior years.

I'm still using the TWSBI Royal Jade F with Sailor Tokiwa-matsu.  It's been my Pen of the Week...

Today, it's been a Pelikan day: I think my M405 Stresemann (4001 Blue-Black) and 400NN tortoise (Teranishi Guitar Night Time Soda) are both running low, so I'll see if I can get through them and maybe the Omas by the end of the year.

Today it's been a Conway Stewart 15.   About a month ago I dropped it and it broke in half.  The barrel was easy enough to mend, but the nib not so much.   I've never tried my hand at nib-repair and frankly couldn't see much wrong with the alignment under a loupe, but it was catching on the paper pretty severely.  I was frustrated enough with my inability to salvage it that I had to clean it and put it away where I wouldn't see it, but something made me bring it back out today.  I finally noticed that my previous attempts to smooth it must have worn away enough of the tipping to leave tines exposed completely.   I decided to grind down the tines and ended up with a very smooth, fine cursive italic that I'm just over the moon with.  The pen has no real significant value as a relatively common CS variant, and in a nickel finish even less so, but it had great sentimental value as my favorite writer with just the right amount of feedback.  I tried with several different inks and landed with J Herbin Perle Noire.

Just inked up a Rosetta Vulcan with a Franklin Christoph steel EF nib.  I’d never tried the nib before and am shocked how good it is!

I bought it 4 years ago and just tried it for the first time.   As with all of my other FC products it does not disappoint!

Today’s pen is the Kaweco Ice Sport in Green with B nib filled with Diamine Blue Edition Mistletoe green ink. It was my first Ice Sport. It showed up as a Last Chance at Jet Pens.

For the second year, I’ve been alternating my page a day A5 notebook with green and red ink. I didn’t repeat a pen, but inks were repeated. Last year, I ended that on the 25th. It will depend on how fast I get a pen I got for Christmas filled on whether I use a pen with red ink tomorrow, or a new pen with whatever ink I choose.

Merry Christmas!

I’m starting my 12 days of Xmas (we watch a lot of Futurama) with my Pilot 78g BB inked with Sailor Shikiori Miruai that has some Pennonia gold shimmer added. I’m alternating between green and red as well, inspired by @Misfit. I will probably swatch some inkswith the Sailor Hocoro if I feel up to it, feeling a bit run down tonight.

Great "old" pen. I still have several ... somewhere, but no BBs.

Thanks for the reminder. I will have to find and start using one again.

A grey day is really a silver one that needs Your polish!

So far today it's been the Parker Vector Shrek "Puss in Boots" pen, M nib, still with Robert Oster Bishop to King.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

They’re so good! It’s such an unusually wide nib for Pilot. I always meant to buy another in a finer size, but never did while they were in production. I think I might try to get a 78g+ that they make for the Chinese market eventually.

I opted to stay with the red and green theme. Today’s pen is a Pilot Kakuno with a red cap and gray body, M nib, filled with Waterman Audacious Red.

Last December, it was red and green. This December, it has been green then red. Which is to say Christmas 2024 I used red ink, and this year it was green ink.

I'm using a Kakuno too.  It's a pink Madoromi fine nib, inked with Iroshizuku Tsukushi.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
