This morning, I wrote a few pages with the Omas 556/F Extra Lucens with Stipula Musk Green, and then carried a piano-black Lamy Studio <EF> with a Pink Cliff cartridge to campus for use in the library.

So far today it's been the sterling Ciselé Parker 75, F nib, still with Waterman Tender Purple.  But I suspect that I'll be using some other pens later in the day (just haven't decided which yet).

I picked up a Kaweco Sport Art Series a month or two ago with a 14k EF nib.  The nib has given me issues, but i've been gently coaxing it in the right direction.  I thought I'd get it writing well and then put it up for sale as I've been jumping on way too many eBay "deals" in December - but after writing a few lines with it, I'm really digging it.   When Kaweco EFs work, it's a wonderful thing.     Maybe today will be Kaweco day - but most of mine are un-inked and looking fun inside a pen case.

@torstar -- That sounds like no fun at all!

I got stiffed a few years ago by an eBay seller after said seller agreed to my offer on a lowly Luxor-made Parker Vector (got my money back but heard about the sale cancellation from PayPal BEFORE I heard from the seller OR from eBay).  And eBay was like, "Oh, you can't provide feedback on a 'cancelled' transaction...."  And I told them, "HOLD MY BEER!" and did it ANYWAY....  And to this day I don't know if the seller got a "better" offer or never had the pen to begin with and got stiffed by Luxor....

glad you got satisfaction and then some!

Told my story a dozen times on here... Sonnet should have been one of my best pens...

Yeah, I was pretty PO'd about that.  And the fact that I heard from PAYPAL before I heard from *either* eBay *or* the vendor didn't exactly improve my mood....

And the worst part was that was the *only* seller in the US who had it listed, and the ONLY seller who claimed to have the pen who had 100% positive ratings.  Well, NOT ANY MORE....  And of course, for me?  The worst part is that I REALLY wanted the pen (it was a cool design).  It was almost worse than the time I got jerked around by a seller (also in NYC) who I'm not allowed to "name and shame" under the rules here for something that was (1) supposed to be SET (sorry, but *I* know where to look to find Parker date codes!); and (2) a graduation gift for my husband's niece when she graduated from high school as class valedictorian.  In that case I filed a dispute, which was adjudicated in my favor in a matter of hours (got to keep the "set" and got my money back) -- but was NOT allowed to give feedback as a result.  So in the second instance?  You bet your life I was providing "feedback" on that seller no matter WHAT eBay claimed -- because *I* wasn't the one who "cancelled" the transaction....

Life without Bells Kalamazoo Stout would be "unbeerable"!

N'est pas?

And a wonderful holiday season to you and ALL!

Hi PGC

Just a couple of things.

1- Any chance of a nib shot of your Mixy?

2- Every time you mention your CP1 with that gold nib I'm jealous.  I should have picked one up when they were less expensive.

3- Would love to see a pic of that Lamy Bronze with Wearingeul Brain rose gold shimmer.

Hi IP

Does the Pink Cliff have any advantages over other dark blue inks?

Wow, I'm seeing a lot of MP1s around.  Which nib did you get?

EDIT: 🤓

LateToThePartyMe just saw an album pic of some MP1s on the right side of my screen, clicked on it and it took me to your  post on Dec 1.  You had 5 of them.  Is this one the 6th?  Do they all have the same nibs?  Were you able to sort out the problem with the Mocha one?

Maybe pick an orange ink. I think it’s the opposite to blue on the color wheel. Opposites are supposed to look good together.

I checked, and yes blue is opposite orange on the color wheel. I got mine from a gardening magazine, and also bought the artist’s color chart, well charts. Blue is opposite orange there as well. Opposite colors are called complementary colors. Red and green are opposites or complementary.

I have started to highlight certain passages I like from books I'm reading (business, biographies, histories, philosophy) and then copying them into a journal.  When I do that, it's an opportunity for me to break out several pens and switch it up, so today I used the following pens:

  • Conway Stewart Churchill Heritage LE - "Meeting jaw to jaw is better than war" - EF w/ Barock Jade
  • Conway Stewart 15 (Red Marble) F - Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black
  • Conway Stewart 24 (Black/Gold) M - Waterman Serenity Blue
  • Conway Stewart 60 (Black/Gold) Stubby M - Diamine Blue Velvet

Interesting posts and some interesting pens.

I like the way you also show and tell how you are using your pens.  A picture of your hand written notes that you are taking is always a bonus for me when viewing pens that people use, it just adds that extra special flair, not nostalgia but a similar sort of feeling that I can not find the word for right now but, it is an inner pleasure when viewing posts like this, thank you!

Not really! It's a pretty straightforward navy, with maybe the barest hint of green. I noticed that it shades pretty well in the little Clairefontaine pocket notebook I was using yesterday, but I see none of the sheen that I hoped for. So far, I think it's fine, but nothing special.

(The back story is: I bought this pack of Lamy Pink Cliff cartridges earlier this year when I thought I might not be able to find a converter to fit a modern-vintage Lamy Unic, and wanted some empty Lamy carts to use with the pen. Then I found the proper Lamy converter for the pen and forgot about the cartridges. I stumbled across them recently and thought I should try one.)

Thank you!  I appreciate that.  I'm a new member to the community and want to try to bring some interesting posts for people to read.  I'm not an artist and I don't have particularly good handwriting, but I figure if I can share a little bit of what I love - it might resonate with someone, anyone.  And I really appreciate people taking time to leave a comment.     Many of my interests are not shared by friends or loved ones, so places like this and even Reddit become a nice outlet and opportunity for some connection.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
