I'd been eyeing Lamy Studios (particularly in that color) for a while -- but when I tried one last winter at the Lamy SoHo store in NYC, discovered it was a bit too heavy for me to be comfortable to use. :(

I would definitely say its weight is one of its distinctive characteristics. I’ll bet the Lamy 2000 is lighter; I have a Lamy 2000 pencil and it’s very light.

Well I tried someone's 2000 a few years ago at a pen club meeting, and it was definitely too heavy (and also, as I recall, too unwieldy, especially since I'm a person who tends to post pens in general.  So I had hopes about the the Studio, being a shorter pen.

I had hoped, after getting a few TWSBIs, that I could get more used to heavier pens, but the Studio just wasn't comfortable in my hand.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Depends on which version. The macrolon version is pretty lightweight, the stainless steel very much on the heavy side.

The mailbox was full today! I received a stainless/green Parker 25 F and a Hongdian M2 SF in midnight blue.

Look how cute!

@boilermaker1975 that’s a beauty, and cool souvenir for the upcoming 250th celebration.

I have what Retro 51 called the Signatures fountain pen of the signers of The Declaration of Independence.

Received a Platinum 3776 Century "Mountain Mist." I had watched this limited special edition come and go this spring and liked it, but not quite enough to pay even the sale prices that were available. But when I stumbled across a deeply discounted open box in broad, I couldn't resist, as that's the Platinum nib I really wanted to get next. Luckily, the pen looks to be in good shape, and the thing I was most uncertain about, aesthetically -- the laser engraving (or whatever it is) on the nib, which I think can sometimes look tacky compared to old-fashioned engraving -- actually looks fine.

I picked up my latest Italian beauty yesterday evening from DHL, a Leonardo Ibrida Glass and Emerald with 14k #8 BB nib for Stilograph Corsani, no 17 of 25. The celluloid and transparent acrylic is a great looking combo in person, and really shows off how well made Leonardo’s piston mechanism is.

Arrived a couple of hours ago.

One of my favorite models of pens is S.T. Dupont Olympio/Orpheo (medium size). This time I bought Olympio in midnight Chinese lacquer, I really like the combination of dark blue and silver.

If anyone who wanted a Winnie-The-Pooh pen lost out, Retro 51 now has a version called The House at Pooh Corner. I saw an email today announcing it. Another email from a pen seller called it House of Tigger.

@Misfit It is a nice looking pen. I am going to try to resist, but in the end resistance is futile.
