More pens would be cheaper. But life is short, so let us know when you can give us a ride in that car.

I should have sprung for the Dark Cherry and Northern Light versions!

Hey, you'd both be welcome for a ride in my wheels if it was a bit more roomy:

😛

Would you trade that for my pen?

Umm, let me speak with my "friend" first who owns it 😛

Ebonit Sport (bought with substantial discount, wouldn’t have paid full price) and the TWSBI 580 Smoke Rose Gold II, to keep the white version happy.

ETA:

I really need to start using a better camera for my pen snaps…

That depends quite a lot on the driver.

Doh! You make a good point.

I’d call shotgun, but it would be ridiculous to do that. I’d love to ride in that car.

Uhm, dunno, seems like Austria? (license plate is unusual; must be one of those special for touring/collectors clubs etc.)

@finzi: very nice Sport! How's the fit and finish? Do the cap threads seem precisely machined? (I ask because one of my two Classic Sports is a little squeaky and rough.)

This is page 149 of this thread and my first Montblanc arrived today, but it's actually the opposite of that, a diminutive 3-42 G from 1951-53 with a very nice M nib and an understated, outline-only snowcap. And with that, I have zero pens en route. Whew.

I always find that a bit of an odd state to reach. It's time to relax and play with the newest and latest arrival. Enjoy 🙂

I call that stretch 'dry-time'. It's the time of contemplation 😔 😉

I have wondered about that, too. The background scenery definitely has Vienna vibes, but I can't seem to find a Peter Hahn shop like that in all of Austria. Also the markings of the parking space are not what you usually see around here. And that licence plate is definitely NOT an Austrian one. Can't identify it though, doesn't even look European to me.

And I am not quite sure what the car is. Bentley? Although those tend to have squarer front grills... Pretty thingy in any case.

It's an Aston Martin DB11. The License Plate is an EU plate but I can't make out the tiny letters that would tell us what country it was registered in.  I checked Google Maps street views for Peter Hahn sites and none of them seem to look like the one in the photo...  It's a mystery.😀

Ah, thank you for the car identification.

But the licence plate would have a vertical blue stripe on the left side with the 12 EU stars on top and letters indicating the country below if it was registered in the EU after the early 2000s. You can see a timeline and the configuration here:

https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro-Kennzeichen#:~:text=Herbst 1998 getroffen.-,EU-Design,und es als Standard übernommen.

It's also not Swiss, because their licence plates have the Swiss flag on the left side.

I also found a picture showing and placing European licence plates including non EU countries:

I enlarged the plate... what do you think?

@USG Did some more googling and finally found it: It´s Monaco (MC), which is indeed not a member of the EU.

They have quite a lot of different designs, which confused me, but I finally found a clear picture of a matching plate:

https://truckonline.de/blog/2021/03/19/exotische-kennzeichen-11/

I thought it had to be one of the tiny countries, given the shortness of letters and numbers combination. So, we have solved the riddle of the what, where and where from now. 😉
