Perhaps you could get them (there will be two; shadow green, and light green), and then the moment they arrive immediately hand them over to your brother to give to you in September? The moment I heard about them in a newsletter I thought I bet that's something for Misfit, then reading your comment about things space . . . How could I not pass on the news? 😇

Nice idea, but he doesn’t live close enough to me to do that. I’m on the western side of Missouri, and he is on the eastern side of Illinois.

I bet the pens will be in stock long enough to wait. I think this is the first new series of Kaweco pens I’ve paid attention to at the beginning (thanks to you, with appreciation). It will be interesting to see if new colors are added, and to see if the original colors stay in production.

But darn it! I was not wanting anything for almost a week. That’s something for me. To reach pens only for birthdays and Christmas is the goal.

Please believe me, I really do know exactly how you feel, I'm likewise trying to work hard on cutting back. It is an on going process. My evil enabler do-gooder whispered "how much harm can just two little Kaweco Sports do?" . . .

Or maybe order and have them sent directly to your brother? 😁

It’s ok. It’s the first time I’ll see a lineup introduced by Kaweco. I’ll get to see how they add and/or subtract to it.

As for the other ideas, it seems like I’d be paying for the pens. In that case, I might as well keep them, and use them immediately.

Oh! Now I can be the sneaky enabler.  @AmandaW might will want the Iridescent Pearl Kaweco Perkeo that is new for 2026.

I already had one in a cart, about to pre-order. :D

Will work for pens...

Kaweco 2026 edition Skyline Sport in Pink arrived today. Pink was discontinued from the Skyline Sport lineup. It is back this year. The De Atramentis Aubergine ink was also in the order.

Very pretty!

The De Atramentis Aubergine is a favourite inks for me - I have it in a TWSBI Eco Lilac.

There doesn't appear to be stock of the new Perkeo anywhere yet.

I have that TWSBI too. Maybe it will get Aubergine next. Bummer on the Iridescent Pearl Perkeo. It needs you.

@AmandaW -- I forgot that I had a bottle of Aubergine!  :headsmack:  I should dig it out and put it in something!

Nice little late model purchased from PSP MB 144 is here. Still had the M sticker on the barrel. Their opinion was it had been dipped but not inked or used and I think that’s accurate. Original box and papers. This has what I think is the 2nd generation feed? Has the vertical fins. Looks like ebonite but my understanding is these were plastic? Writes very well. Now to chase down the right black and gold celluloid 144 to complete the trio.

My first eyedropper and also my first urushi pen, a Ban-ei with a new seal. I’d been mulling over a tamenuri from Seypen for months, but this grabbed me with its sheer simplicity.

@InkyProf Now there's an interesting pen! How does it write? It looks a little smaller than an Emperor? But presumably with a similar sealing mechanism? I've not yet come across this make. Please tell us more!

Nobody does simplicity like the Japanese. 💞

I’m not an expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but my understanding is that this name refers to pens made by a group of four men around 1980, there is more information on Bruno Taut’s website at https://estilofilos.blogspot.com/2011/11/ban-ei.html. These (unlike later ones they made for Danitrio) are unbranded anywhere except the nib. They have (or mine has) the shutoff valve (which was apparently adapted from Onoto plunger fillers, but without the plunger, just the shutoff); I don’t know if this the same as the Emperor, but it sounds like it. Mine is just shy of 145mm capped. I don’t know how it writes yet, I’m still deciding what to fill it with! But the balance in the hand is amazing.

Beautiful. The simplicity and subtlety of the final result belie the complexity of the process it took to achieve. In the middle of Bernard Lyn’s book and it’s fascinating. As an aside, the link in your later post didn’t work for me. Had to search “Ban-ei” on the site to find the page.
