Excellent choices. Do you have a favorite from these three?

Not really. They were the colours on clearance/discounted offer from Milligram (except the Honey, … long story) available to me; I could (and ‘had to’) order them online to secure the units, but there had to be collected from a store physically and then only if the store already had the surplus/clearance stock, without possibility of transferring to another store in the retail ‘network’.

I know my wife would like the Smooth Sage, so that's Valentine's Day sorted.

I personally love orange as a colour, but the mustardy yellow (which I don't mind) Honey is not sufficiently orange, in-your-face, daunting and taunting. But I wanted one with a gold-plated nib (and cap finial/button), to host what I'll get Chris Lim to custom-grind. The Mellow Blue will host the needlepoint nib ground by Chris Lim I tested and offered to buy off him, and the Honey will host his ‘pencil’ nib grind I'm going to ask him to turn a ‘spare’ gold-plated M nib into. The Twin nib will most likely stay in the black Kaweco Sport in which it came. That ‘frees’ me to sell the black Kaweco Sport piston-filler as new-in-box; and that accounts for all my recent acquisition of Kaweco Sport pens.

My wife may or may not end up asking Chris to grind the M nib on her Kaweco Sport to his ‘artist’ grind.

In the meantime, I have just enough short rotary-driven piston converters to ‘adapt’ for use in our Kaweco Sport pens. Right now I'm testing one implementation for leaks and ink evaporation; so far so good.

Platinum has a BB nib? I wonder if it can be swapped to the lower cost Platinum pens like the Plaisir.

Sorry, I just meant the blue-black ink!

@rodia77 that makes sense. I don’t think I’ve seen a nib beyond M for Platinum, though I haven’t made the effort to research their nib range.

That was quick. Thank you for making the effort. Now to click on the link.

Edit: I can’t explain it, because I have a 3776. I momentarily spaced out that it was Platinum’s pen. Mine has a B nib. From looking, it’s the higher end pens with the nib range.

Only the ‘standard’ (or, in the context of those sub-brands, entry-level) models in the #3776 Century and President lines offer Coarse (i.e. broader than Broad) and Ultra Extra Fine nibs as options. The Izumo, and the higher-end (e.g. the Celluloid, Sterling Silver, and Kanazawa gold leaf) #3776 Century pen models don't.

My Year of the Horse, Wajima maki-e TWSBI ECO from Bungubox arrived today from Japan, two days after I ordered it! I inked it with Colorverse's Red Horse and am really enjoying using my new pen. It's beautifully made and was carefully packaged. The paper is from a Montblanc notebook.

Thanks, friends! It was incredibly quick international shipping, considering it takes something over a week to travel an hour away via the USPS.

I didn’t expect to buy a second Magna within a week but I just couldn’t pass this up at a great price today at the CA Pen Show. image.thumb.jpg.b2cf9350ddeec647a8b177240a09e729.jpg

I love Onotos. Everyone I have is a great pen.

@boilermaker1975 - I can’t agree more.  I had another vintage Onoto nib tuned up today at the show and I’ll restore another that’s been on the bench waiting for parts - maybe this weekend.    I’m getting my Onoto Scholar nib reground from an M to a stub on Sunday so I’ll have only Onotos on my desk next week I think.

@JasonR Beautiful pen and flex. Congratulations!

Thank you @Ceramicist - This is one I've been looking for at a reasonable price for the last 4-5 months, so I'm happy to have it in hand!  Wrote a few pages with it last night and it's nicely balanced.

@Ceramicist I like this horse, it has so much character. For some reason it reminds me a little of merry-go-rounds, in a good way! Congratulations on your new pen, and here's to a great Year of the Horse!!

Thank you! I agree, it reminds me of a merry-go-round horse as well. It has a playfulness and fantasy element to it. Yes, here's to a Year of the Horse filled with abundant good health, happiness and love! 🐎

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
