I got this pen today

My Bronze Age arrived today. I thought it felt heavier than my Onoto Faraday, but I weighted them and they are both 42 grams.

That's cute.

Thank you. I still wish I could have found the New Moon Dark Rose. But, this is the consolation pen. I do like the glitter.

Congratulations on getting this outstanding pen. The bronze will tarnish in time. Which nib did you choose? I got mine with the 1.3mm stub nib.

I got the medium nib. I will probably ink it tomorrow and give it a go.

Edit: I am boring when it comes to nibs. All mine are medium. I have ordered some broad nibs to try on my Lamy Safaris since they are easy to switch.

A few years ago, a guy who used to come to my local pen club bought a pack of Hero 616s from someplace online, and was handing them out to whoever was interested.  I was curious so I took one of them.  And at the price the guy paid overall, including shipping?  I was seriously wondering, after trying mine, if it wasn't a FAKE of a Hero 616 (which in of themselves are apparently knockoffs of Parker 21s or 51s).  It wasn't a horrible writer....  But it wrote like the maybe $2 pen it was.

The reason why I'm sniffing around Heroes (Heros?) is because I have a 330 from 1980s and while it does feel cheap in hand (heck, I can't even tell if the 'metal' cap is metal or metal-looking plastic, it feels more like plastic), it's a fabulous writer. So even if it's retired in my book, I flushed it some weeks ago and I have a feeling I'll still want to put it to use every now and then. And I'm curious how new ones compare to this one, I kind of expect the nibs to be of lower quality, not sure about the rest.

Here's the 'retiree':

Unfortunately, your photo didn't post correctly.  I'm just getting a box with a question mark in a little box in the middle and the URL at the top of the box (and the URL link didn't work either).

Funny, it showed fine for me but it looked like the attachment was missing, I tried and reuploaded now. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah, seeing it now at my end, too.

ETA: Sometimes stuff like email for my other hobby doesn't go through right.  There was a discussion recently on an email list about some candidate being considered for a major award, and the email came through as this big black rectangle on the screen (and it wasn't just me having trouble reading it).  But when I tried to forward the post?  Still a black rectangle -- but the text of the email was then visible (just in a fairly pale blue color).

That’s an adorable pen,

Mr. Pink has never heard of an "adorable" pen.  If my wife ever calls one of my pens "adorable", it goes up on eBay.  I'll reserve "adorable" for kittens.  🙂

The rightmost pen in this tray arrived a couple of days ago but I finished work on it today, thereby completing this set of a dozen Esterbrook Dollar and transitional J pens (shown with their stray friends).

(Weirdly, the cap on the copper transitional J is a slightly wonky fit on its matching barrel, even though all my other transitional caps thread smoothly onto this barrel, and this cap threads smoothly onto all my other transitional barrels. I’m not going to sweat it; it works well enough.)

My mom was feeling nostalgic about writing with fountain pens, but when she bought one it didn’t work right. I bought her an Opus 88 mini, and she loves it so much! More than I could have hoped. It’s a really nice little pen.

Sailor 1911L. This pen is such a joy to me! It’s the only pen that I keep with me inked all the time.IMG_3545.thumb.jpeg.dbe35459fe3618bb6f7807c9eb134f62.jpeg

That's great! I really do love mine and find it just about perfect!

That is a beautiful pen! I have my favorites as well. I feel like having a favorite pen is almost like having a favorite child. 😊

Guessing you don't have any "cartoon themed" pens like I do (a couple of Parker Vectors from their "Looney Toons" series, and the "Puss in Boots" pen from their "Shrek" series (and if they'd ever made a "Fiona" pen for that series, I'd definitely want one of those as well... ).

Hmmm.  Haven't used the "Looney Toons Tasmanian Devil" pen for a while.  I really should think about putting that pen back into rotation at some point (maybe once I finish the fill in the "Looney Toons Sylvester the Cat" pen). B)

You are correct, Mr. Pink has no cartoon pens.  The closest he comes to cute, adorable, darling, and fluffy pens is his gold-plated Targa.  But he does own some funky inks 🙂
