Today Nik Pang’s table stole all of my attention. Look at these beauties!

These two arrived today from different countries, and make a rather nice pair: a 1960s "Made in England" Parker 45 in teal, with an OF ("Y") nib, still chalk-marked*; and a Montblanc Super Carrera 5225, a pen I thought was horribly ugly until one day something clicked and it was suddenly beautiful. After tomorrow's mail (fingers crossed) I'll have zero pens en route, and will be shifting (have already shifted) the shopping into a lower gear, though I might have to get the yellow Carrera too...

*yes, I've already loosened the cap post-photograph for storage.

the holes in the clip.

That’s exactly the thing I disliked and then suddenly fell for. I then learned that they’re probably supposed to look like the perforated spokes on a 1970s Porsche Carrera steering wheel, which almost made me fall out of love again, but I was able to overlook it. 🙂

The Kaweco x Hello Kitty Stardust pen arrived today. I put a cartridge of Kaweco Summer Purple in it. It comes with a keychain.

Zoom in to see the Hello Kitty in gold tone. The pen is very transparent.

Here is Miss Kitty on the nib, which was only offered in F.

Sailor, limited edition 2003, dedicated to the Japanese baseball team Hanshin Tigers. The pen is based on Sailor 1911L with a 21-carat medium nib.

I don't know anything about baseball (it's not very popular in our country), but I really liked the black and white color scheme of the pen and the stripes on the barrel.

My first ever Kaweco Sport! I had a Perkeo that I never really liked that much, but I like this a lot! It writes a nice smooth fine line that’s consistent at every angle.

@PennyTheDog Is that physics homework?

Yes, I teach engineering (and a little physics) at a community college… I was writing out an answer key.

Today I received my new Pilot Custom 823.  I went for the clear barrel so I could enjoy the ink sloshing.  What an enjoyable pen.

Ample ink supply, safety valve so no leaking when carrying it, and a lovely Pilot nib.  Really like it...

Currently most used pen: Parker 51 Aerometric <F> -- filled with Waterman Mysterious Blue ink.

Congratulations! Kaweco Sport fountain pens are great little writers. And write right away after being left alone for awhile.

@USG, I went with Medium which is my favorite nib size for long form writing.  I do have another Pilot (Justus 95) with a Fine. I use that one with A6 size notebooks.. and for fussy diagrams and such.  More Ink pictures upcoming. :-)

Good looking Pilot you got, I really like the looks of it and being transparent is very nice! @Mechanical 😄

@RedPie, this pen has  been on my list for at least a year. I had a hard time deciding between the clear, smoke, and amber versions.  I am very happy I went with clear, because you get the true color of the ink in the resevoir.

Currently most used pen: Parker 51 Aerometric <F> -- filled with Waterman Mysterious Blue ink.

I’m taking a bit of a buying break, so I went out with a bang: here’s my new to me Parker T1 F/M. I really just want to take the time to get to know some of my newer pens better, and I realized that I have such a backlog of new items that I’ve not been giving things the attention they deserve.

My T-1 arrived in this blue velvet box- I don’t know if it’s the correct box for the pen, sometimes my dealer will send pens in a box, sometimes not. I haven’t looked for a catalog or sales ad yet.

Here’s that famous integrated nib:

That's great. I've only ever seen an integrated nib like that on a Pilot Murex, but I love the look. I hope you enjoy!

@Penguincollector, when you have time, I'd love to hear how that Parker T1 writes for you.  And is that nib springy... or firm?  It's quite a handsome pen!

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
