I'd have to see those in person to see if the colors really float my boat.  But I am kind of a sucker for Safaris with colored clips, rather than the plain metallic ones....

Attractive color combination. I especially like the cream color. But I would only get one if it has the matte surface - I don’t like the glossy finish.

The cream color reminds very much the German cab color, Hellelfenbein (light ivory). Fits well for a German product. 🙂

Personally, I like the berries and cream image a bit more…😛

Most probably the better choice. 🍓

Tbh, the color match with the silver nib is a bit offputting imho, especially the "cream" one. I love the fact that they are matte though :)

Will probably buy both but put a black nib on the cream one :)

Black rings and clips look much better than these tone in tone editions. The China special edition is red with a black clip. Looks better.

I took a few minutes yesterday and watch Brian Goulet's review of the new Whitesilver al-Star with the comparison to some other al-Stars and LX pens.  And after seeing it side by side in the video with last year's Azure al-Star, I think I am likely to pass on Whitesilver.  OTOH, there was an older one that was a really close match in color, only with a black clip.  And well, that one might go onto my "search for" list....

I actually like the Whitesilver color and will probably either order one, or see if Dromgoole's has it next time I'm down there.

I don't have an Al-Star, so I though it'd be a good first one to try.

Strawberries and Cream are meant to be eaten, writing with them tends to be a sticky/messy affair.  :D

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
