CVS - Caliber (5 Subject Notebook)
Fountain Pen friendly and only $5 for a buttload of pages.
No dot-grid though...lined only.

Hmm. I may go for this option. Do you have a picture or sku number I should look for?

Thank-you so much. There is a CVS a block away from my home. I tend to avoid it due to rude staff. I will report back today!

Awesome, happy hunting!
NOTE: All of the "Caliber" products use the same Fountain-Pen friendly paper...so if you see another product that says "CALIBER" you can be sure it will work for you. :D

I have just got back from CVS and bought me 4 notebooks that I’m perfectly pleased with. I especially like the six by nine one as it is so wieldy and easy to carry around. At the same time, I appreciate the two others which are eight by eleven, both of which have 200 sheets. What a great find! The best of the best! No bleeding, no ghosting, and excellent price. Thank you so much.

I share the humanity of people, I’m like the rest of everybody and certainly I’m not better or higher than anybody in anything, regardless of what they believe in or don’t believe in. What they experience is certainly not alien to me. I’m part of all people and they are part of me, interbeing, that is.

Thanks for the updates on the CVS Caliber notebooks! It probably isn't exactly what I'm looking for due to spiral binding and lined format, but may snag one for ink testing anyway since they are so cheap!

An update on the Midori Codex Journal: after 2 weeks of use, the front and back cover and first and last signatures of the binding started to separate from the spine. It is an exposed spine to help it lie flat, but the downside clearly seems to be durability (I did use a faux leather cover too). It might hold up if I baby it, but I don't trust it. I also found that with such a thick notebook, the squared (rather than rounded) corners felt sharp on my hand. Dunno if that makes sense. Anyway, might be a great notebook for some folks! Just not for me.

Yeah, I forget who put me on to them...but I'm never buying another overpriced rhodia/tomoe-river/clairefontaine notepad EVER again.

Awesome!! Glad that you like them! I don't use anything else but "Caliber" brand notepads/notebooks nowadays...they are just so much better of a value.
And they do everything that is needed by a fountain-pen user. :)

Absolutely! That's the great thing about the "CVS - Caliber" products, they're economical and come in different sizes/shapes for your every ink-test need. I'm currently searching for the perfect pocket-sized "Caliber" pad to replace my current EDC notepad...which I only use because it's what I have that fits my cargo pants. Horribly thin pages though...bleeds, feathers...ugh.

🤔You know what...let me get my butt over to the downtown CVS and see if they have a pocket-sized "Caliber" pad to fix my EDC issue.

Stalogy just recently, as in this past week or so, came out with a blank/plain version of their 365 notebook, it may not be available at all retailers yet, but in the U.S. it is available at Yoseka. Happy customer, no affiliation…

Much obliged.  Bookmarked.

Actually bought one from Jet Pens, but I am liking it.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
