I bought a P100 in Diamond Blue with the brushed gold-colored cap early on when they were released. It's dated I.III. I could never get ink to flow, and I just tossed it in a drawer. Fast forward to about a month ago, and I found it in the drawer. I thought "I'm going to get this thing going or dump it once and for all".

Fortunately, I was able to find some info on how to disassemble the section. Once apart, it was clear to me that the feed channels weren't large enough. A minute with a razor blade opened up and deepened the ink feed channels.

Eureka! The ink flows perfectly now. It's one of my favorites and I use it a lot.

Interesting experience...

I have found my P100 with F nib being quite dry writer... So, perhaps, I need to do something similar with it..

Well... I have just had to start using Parker Quink ink in my P100 with F nib to really appreciate and enjoy it :)

Now it is one of my EDC pens, and I actually find it  to be an excellent writer and use it even much more than my P51s... original 51s, of course ;)

INMHO, P100 is the only and true decent successor of the original 51...

My Parker 51s and Parker 100

Parker 51 Mk III

Parker 100

@John Danza I was really disappointed with my P100, not a steady writer, ink starved…. It went in the collection drawer for a few years. Then gave it another shot recently with a thorough cleaning and went to Waterman Blue ink, and now it’s better behaved.  Seems to want a better flowing ink… and I always liked the P100 lines, reminiscent of the P51 updated for the 21st Century. @TheRedBeard I’m totally concur with you.

Interestingly had to do the same with the P51 remake - several thorough flushings, use Waterman or Parker blue inks, and its better behaved.  It’s one of my three travel pens - if I lose them, I don’t cry as much (don’t ask about the MB252 set sitting in an Amtrak sleeper somewhere….)

While I still like P100, I have actually suspended using my  P100s about a year ago...

I still drag one of my 100's out and run a converter full of ink through it. I finally managed to find mediums and a fine italic P100. All my early 100's were broad or maybe double broad.

I did discover on one of the mediums, just how soft the nibs are though.  If you need to align tines, use about a fifth of the force you would normally use. It is as though the nib is made out of roofing lead.

I still enjoy the size and heft of the 100's, fairly similar to the Ellipse. Sadly my Ellipses have poor ink flow and are not great writers, I do like the ballpoints though.

May I ask why?

Perhaps, due to my other EDC pens (P75, Rialto and P61) performing much better for me :)

Being frank I should say that I have not had any of my 51s (real ones, of course) inked for a year , too...

However, it might be right time to ink both P100 and P51 again :)

I completely agree with you on Ellipse: so nice pen, and so poor ink flow, huge disappointment :(
