Yes!  I got a bottle of this as well (along with Noodler's Walnut, Private Reserve Avocado, De Atramentis Sherlock Holmes and a handful of other inks as part of my FPD splurge.  Immediately filled my new Monteverde MP-1 in Mocha Mousse with it and just LOVE it.

2nd hand, approximately 90% fill bottle of Maruzen New Century Eternal Blue.

I've heard that is a lovely shade.

De Atramentis Sherlock Holmes

I don’t see this ink mentioned often. I bought a second bottle before I needed it so I’d be prepared. We have the Mocha Mousse pen in common too.

I’d love to know what you think of PR Avocado once you use it.

I looked at my inventory notes about the De Atramentis Sherlock Holmes ink, and found that I'd tried a sample of it but didn't like it (don't remember why, now).  I'll have to look up the index for the ink test notebooks and pull out the right one and see *why* I didn't like it now....

And apparently, at the time, I thought the ink was too wet, but it still dried fairly quickly on the crummy sketchbook paper I was doing the reviews in.  And looking at it now?  I actually kinda like the color.  But maybe it was just that it was too "ordinary" a blue.

Maruzen has an "Athena Eternal Blue" (faceted bottle from what I can gather) and it will be interesting to see if the New Century version (Sailor Gentle type bottle) will match it. There are images of the Athena version online, notably including @visvamitra's review here, but I can't find an image for the New Century version. I will give an update later in the week after I receive it.

I’ve had a bottle of the old style shoe one and still have cartridges of the formulation they had in 2011, love both of those IG inks. I’m excited to ink a pen with this current formula.

What do you think of it? Is it dry, like the old one? I meant to tell you that I think the notebook you bought with it is beautiful.

@USG, I am going to some ink testing in the pink notebook soon, just have to wait for the wasp sting to go away. The MB will joing a selection of indigo inks and the Moonview 2 a selection of sheening inks. I am super excited to try see what they look like on Cosmo Snow.

I didn't have the older version so nothing to compare it to, but I find it to be pretty normal/in between dry and wet, maybe a tad on the dryer side. I've only used it in my MB 146 so I am eager to try it in another pen. I think this MB with medium nib is more toward being a wet writer, too.

Thank you on the notebook. No way would I have paid the original cost. I'd gone with two girlfriends to Woodbury Commons, an outlet mall south of here, and bought it at the Montblanc boutique along with the ink. The ink was not discounted but the notebooks were. I should've purchased more, but I was emotionally exhausted from such an extraverted endeavor as a shopping trip like that requires. I didn't get the shopping gene unless it's for books, pens and paper, teddy bears, and antiques. I've not been to a regular indoor mall in years.

Not paper quite so much for me, and DEFINITELY not teddy bears (although I've picked up a few Beanie Baby critters over the years -- most recently a cat with black stripes and a white face & paws, and a Punxsutawney Phil wearing a top hat, but also the "Scoop the Pelican" ones to give away to people) but definitely pens and books (and sometimes antiques).

I'll admit that I'm tempted to go back to the antiques mall across town and ask what the deal is on a boxed edition I saw in a booth selling records.  I have the album (have had it since I was about 15 or 16) but never saw it anywhere as some sort of boxed set before.  (Didn't want to take the time then because I was just killing a little time before driving upriver to get my allergy shots before).  And of course might not buy it at all -- I mean, I HAVE the album, after all -- but it sort of piqued my interest....  Trying to remember if I've ever found any pens at the place (I hadn't been in there for a couple of years).

Just today I received an order from Cult Pens from their Black Friday sale. With my points and their sale, I snagged a bunch of Diamine and Rohrer & Klingner inks for my son and I that we've been eyeing for a while. Overall, even with shipping and tariffs to the US, they came in at around $5/bottle! Here's the list:

Diamine -- Lavender, Violet, Lady Grey, Tchaikovski, Chopin, Vivaldi, Pelham Blue, Asa Blue, Mediterranean Blue, Oxford Blue, Bashful Blueberry, Amaranth, Havasu Turquoise, Silver Fox, Imperial Blue, Sunshine Yellow, Steel Blue, Cornflower, Tulip, Aster, Apple Glory, Sargasso Sea and Kelly Green.

Rohrer & Klingner -- Verdigris, Cassia, Verdura

I inked up several pens and am enjoying Amaranth, Asa Blue and Verdigris (although it feathers on cruddy paper). We should be set for a while.

Oh, and I'm not a huge fan of super light inks, Lady Grey has something going on that I like. When wet, I see a bit of turquoise and when dry, it's got a nice light purple in there. Interesting anyway.

The Punxsutawney Phil in top hat sounds adorable as does Scoop the Pelican. I only collect antique or vintage bears so I am discriminating. My rarest is a 1907 Steiff with the underscored FF button. What album?

@PBWilson1970 Wow, you did better than I did. In October Cult pens had a buy 4 get the fifth free, so I had to buy in increments of 5. I ended up with 20 Diamine inks at about $8 a bottle with tariffs and all.

There is some overlap with your list but I clearly have more Diamine Inks to acquire!

The photo shows the ones I got.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
