  😂 I’ll take the credit.

My husband hit the checkout button on the Amazon cart, which had a bottle of Private Reserve Black Magic Blue in it. How’d that get in there?

That's good, because I fell in love with Wearingeul's Smile Cat (Cheshire Cat) sample cards and it would be irresponsible to accrue a shipping charge for just that, so I ordered their Cheshire Cat ink....and a bottle of Wayfarer fell into the cart. As thoroughly mysterious as your experience, I think. I find it also happens with yarn, from time to time.

ETA: I'm also waiting on a bottle of their Heimdall--so much for "being good" and waiting on it.

Hey, kids! Guess what pain meds, enforced inactivity, and hitting the point where pretty, pretty yarn isn't scratching that color/creativity itch any more all adds up to? If you guessed ordering 27 (!!!) new inks from a variety of sources, you win. (Your prize? Might be ink. No way of knowing.)

All are new to me with a couple of companies (Diplomat, Leonardo Officina) also being ones I haven't tried:

Diamine:

- Earl Grey

- Havasu Turquoise

- Chocolate Brown

- Ash

- Moon Dust

-Cult Pens Deadly Nightshade

Wearingeul:

- Heimdall

- Wayfarer (blame Penguincollector)

- Cheshire Cat

J. Herbin (in my defense, 5 inks of the total are part of the Writers Set):

- Rouge Hematite

- Rue de la Verrerie

- Bleu Pervenche

- Bleu de Profondeurs

- Bleu Calanque

- Victor Hugo

- Madame de Staël

- Voltaire

- Honoré de Balzac

- George Sand

- Perle Noir

- Café des Iles

- Larnes de Cassis

- Tour Eiffel

- Moulin Rouge

Diplomat:

- Caramel Brown

Leonardo Officina:

- Mediterranean Blue

- Noce Moscata

Now...back to work (remotely) because I need to support my fp/knitting/books habits (and pay for pesky things like bills and (of late) the biggest bill of all: groceries.) Now, done with spending until the end of the year (calendar, not fiscal) (whispers: except for if I get my wished for bday present--going to a (fairly) local fountain pen show--it'll be my first one.)

Does it still count as "impulsive" when the USPS is doing its best to not deliver at all? Heimdall's voyage so far:

2/25 ordered

2/26 shipped from NJ

3/1 Hits Seattle distribution center - delivery date now listed as 3/3

3/4 Leaves Seattle distro in transit - delivery date says 3/4 between 1230 and 4 (which we all know is a lie and it'll now be 3/5 at the earliest after hitting my local USPS, getting on a truck, and then going out for delivery) and then changes to "by 9pm" ("dark of night" my left elbow; USPS has never delivered that late in all my years on this planet and continues, as expected, to not do so)

3/5 As of this morning, my package is now back in San Francisco

Next update? I'm figuring, "Currently in transit to Alpha Centauri distribution center", or the ever-popular, "Unable to deliver due to weather conditions--returned to sender". Either seems equally feasible at this point.

I have a couple of the ones on your list: Diamine Earl Grey and the original formula of J Herbin Rouge Hematite (it had big flakes of gold instead of the dust like most shimmer inks now have); I wasn't sure I would like the color of it because I tend to not like brownish reds or red/browns, but that's more of a brick red.

Turns out I also apparently have a bottle of Herbin Bleu de Profondeurs -- which I didn't remember until I checked my inventory file....   And a bottle of Diamine Havasu Turquoise....

Very cool! If I post any inks in here that you're interested in, let me know and I'll bring samples. :) Having volunteered for events in the past, a little surprise never hurts. I'll be the old bat with brown (and grey) short hair.

That’s super cool of you! I’ll message you closer to show time and we can make plans to meet up.

Today it was the recently released Noodler's Prairie Flax.  I think I read that it was originally for the Colorado Pen Show, but now has been made a regular lineup color.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but the swatch card I saw made it look like a very nice medium blue that doesn't seem to lean either green/teal/turquoise or red/purple.

That would be great! I have a ton of new/empty sample bottles, so...

Precis of the Epic of the Travelling Ink:

2/25 ordered from Goldspot in NJ

2/26 shipped, because Goldspot rocks

2/27 in Aurora, CO, expected delivery 3/3

2/28 leaves Aurora

3/1 in Seattle, WA, expected delivery now 3/4

3/4 ink back on the move, expected delivery 3/4 between 12pm and 4pm. Later switched to "by 9pm." Doesn't happen.

3/5 ink in San Francisco, CA. All expected delivery dates have disappeared.

3/6 leaves San Francisco and arrives in Oakland, CA.

3/7 ink leaves Oakland after a 28 hour hiatus--just enough time to see a few sights, sample the regional cuisine, etc. No postcard, though. I'm a little hurt about that.

3/7 later in the day - ink now says "In transit--running late" (well, yes since it was supposed to be here 3 days ago).

Today was in Seattle, magicially transported to Olympia (no update about leaving/arriving) and supposedly preparing for delivery today.

I'm not sanguine about its arrival today. Maybe Monday. Or it'll be in Indiana. No way of knowing, really.

ETA instead of posting yet again: at 6:10 am this morning, it was listed as out for delivery. Newest addition now says that as of 10:50 am this morning, it says that it's "Moving through network" having "Left the Seattle Distribution Center." Go home, USPS; you're drunk.

ETA2 Heimdall has finally (!) arrived along with a bottle of pen flush and a Wearingeul Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde 3-pen pen case.

A dual Nakabayashi combo I impulse-bought yesterday; ink & paper:

The ink matches the high quality one has come to expect from Nakabayashi (Teranishi also makes the Taccia branded inks) and it truly reminds me of antique script written with black iron gall.

(The paper is also a welcome revelation! @namrehsnoom reviewed it recently).

Wearingeul's Cheshire Cat is (almost) everything I'd hoped. Love the color (no, *really* love the color), love the flow...the only drawback is that it likely won't be my every day driver because it does not like cheap notebook paper (mainly what I use at work). There's a bit of bleed-through and a larger-than-I'd-like feathering issue. Dry time is quite quick--my inadvertent smear test in the photo below happened about a second after I'd written the word and everything else was already dry.

Top example is on a cheap Top Flight notebook, middle is Clairefontaine white, 90g., and the bottom is Wearingeul's own "Smile Cat" sample card. That color though...

Once one of my broader nibs is available, I'd like to see if there's any shading. I'm thinking not, but would like to try. And apologies for the less-than-stellar handwriting--it was a quick scribble.

Bought several inks over the weekend at the B/W Show: Noodler's Prairie Flax; a backup bottle of Sailor Souboku; a bottle of the (made for the show) Organics Studio Blue Crab; and got (as a freebie) a small bottle of Diamine Les Paul Guitar Honey Burst.  Also got a bottle of some Monteverde ink that was swag for people who paid for VIP passes: Monteverde Baltimore Washington International Pen Show Blue.

Have not had a chance to try any of the the "new" ones yet.  Got home around 7:30 PM Sunday night, slept in on Monday until about 10:30 AM, and then spent most of the rest of the day catching up on doing the laundry....

Diamine Prussian Blue - impulsively added to an order, and I was not disappointed.

Just arrived, Birmingham Pen Company's Tintype, Distressed Leather, Phytoplankton, Jasper Vein, Glassblower's Flame, and Firebox.

ETA: And today (3/13) Diamine Inkvent Fire Embers and Cult Pens Pumpkin Shimmer, Diamine Athol Violet and Wax Seal, Wearingeul's Anubis, R&K's Blue-Eyed Mary, and Endless Alchemy's Cult Pens exclusive Spectral Orange. That one I just want to put under a strong light and give it a shake from time to time, creating the world's prettiest lava lamp (she who's old enough to remember the originals).
