Does anybody have or tried this pen.

 

Wonder what peoples thoughts are. as a special edition is it limited to just f m nibs?

Haven't actually tried the fountain pen, but handled it in a shop. It's quite heavy, since it's metal and overall, quite thick, so depending on your hand size and preferences, it could be best to try it in person before buying.

 

As for nib grades, generally F and M are readily available in Montblanc boutiques (at least that's how things are here), but any nib size can be ordered (with a delay of about 2 weeks or a bit more, given the Corona-situation). So you could get EF, F, M, B, BB, OM, OB, OBB nibs no problem, either directly from Montblanc boutiques or website or resellers such as Appelboom or La Couronne du Comte in the EU.

if you chose a different nib, would it be a stock one, or matched to the nib on the original pen, ie apple logo?

I am attracted to the colour.

I have a j swift pen but would prefer a wider option than M..

The nib is exchanged at Montblanc so it will be exactly the same as in the picture, regardless of the grade.

 

As for posting, Stephen Brown mentions it doesn't quite post (around min. 11:20), but even if it did, it would make it very back-heavy:

I actually kinda like the stripes. But I'm not overly enamored of the clip. Or, for that matter, the price.

OTOH, I have a bottle of the Beatles Psychedelic Purple ink (I may have picked up a second one somewhere along the line as a backup) and like it. It was very well behaved in my Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue with the M nib.

Love the coloring but not a fan of metal sections, often my fingers start sliding into the nib, and that clip is just ugly.

I get the apple motif, but what do stripes have to do with the Beatles, is it just the Yellow Submarine/Pop Art explosion of the 1960s?

 

I like the pen and I don't normally take to MB LEs and I really disliked the John Lennon pen.

 

eta. I have just called the Manager MB at Royal Exchange, this pen was sold out within a hour of the word getting around, as is usually the case with MB special editions.

Yes? I think the bright colours are probably meant to be redolent of the era the pen celebrates.

 

I really like the colours and the stripes! Bold and strident!

But, the clip is a clumsy addition, in my humble opinion. I'm also not keen on the metal section and turning knob.

 

I'm not really in the market for this pen, anyway - an unfortunate coincidence of design reminds me of a cheap oversize ballpoint pen, I won at a fairground, as a child.

 

But, each to their own. If it grabs you, buy it and get the nib swap.

Funny how these things have unintended consequences, or saved you a few hundred Pounds many years later! The polished metal section and heavy weight are not my preference. I have grown to like the happy colors though, which by the way look more for the British company Paul Smith than Beatles

Skipped the pen, bought the ink though, since I did NOT need yet another 50ml of purple ink, opted for a box or two of the "not a fountain pen" refills.

It seems that the colours are inspired by the outfits worn by the Fab Four on the Sgt. Pepper outfit:
