Oh no! That sucks. I wonder what the glitch is? I hope they get back to you in hours instead of days.

They never did and while early today this promotion is still on, they’ve corrected nothing on their website. I’ve had this happen with them in the past it’s aggravating actually. They usually offer then to do the order by phone, which is a real hassle or maybe invoice it. I don’t really care at this point if it doesn’t happen, I won’t buy it. It doesn’t make a difference to me.

In the old days, I would email Steve Leveen to complain. Recently I had a dialog with the President Margaret Moraskie. Both ate phenomenal people as were the employees working there back in the 90’s to the early 2ks when I would go to the Delray Beach warehouse pretty much on a weekly basi. I’m not going to complain on this though. They helped me in the past on some bigger issues.

These are my two darlings from 2005. Back then a gold nib was reasonable in the $400s not $4,000s. 😊

That’s what I said before, it’s all up above. Check it! What’s fretwork?

I’m sorry, I missed the photo identifying it as a Sunset.

Fretwork refers to the embellishment of the two bands.

Interesting. 🙏

As usual the webite won't give me free shipping on the two nibs but each item shows you get it. i emailed them:

"I’m looking to buy two nibs CA2600 and CA2608 and both say Pens & Ink Ship Free within the Continental U.S..

i add them and I’m being charged shipping. it’s not because of the bogo, because i added two pens and no shipping."

Now wait three days probably. 🙂

Update: This did get resolved favorably. I messaged them through IG, and they took care of it from there. ❤️ Levenger.

Just a heads up. That BOGO on pens that expired a few days ago hasn’t as of this morning, you can still get it, I tested it & today they have 30% off and free shipping no minimum, pens and refills are free anyway but I do buy some stuff there that has shipping in it.

Levenger Freeleaf legal pads (FP friendly 90-100 gsm paper) a product that I use all day every day are now shipping free. These are expensive but a new development of free shipping has come about. The shipping on them were super expensive making this a fairly pricey product almost out of reach unless you used a sale and got over $100. General Discounts on the site will also apply.

@Misfit 🙏. Hoping your Midnight Spark arrives soon. I’m waiting on my two nibs and I bought some refills for my TW rollerballs as they had new colors that I hadn’t seen before.

Both of my orders have shipped. It looks like they go via DHL from Olive Branch, Mississippi to Hebron, Kentucky. Then they continue via USPS.

Sounds good. Their shipping methods can be unpredictable. My nibs haven’t shipped yet. The RB refills, one color shipped the other was supposed to be in stock on 10/20/25 but I guess didn’t arrive. It’s nice that they ship the one they have, many companies won’t and are still in the dark ages when the site says they have it and they don’t, when that arises and they won’t do partial shipments I cancel the order.

SWEET!!!!

I had a problem with my preorder of the Sapphire Mosaic FP. I preordered as usual, but the danged pen was so popular that it had to be backordered, but as it was part of an order with currently stocked items, they were kind enough to send me everything but the backordered pen so I wouldn't have to wait.

Weeks went by, overshooting the release date by a fair margin, *and* the website on release day actually showed the pen being available and I made a test run to see if I actually could put it in my cart.

Yup.

So .... what gives?

So I looked around amongst my printed Levenger invoices and online and found a number that took me to a person. She was very polite and professional and alerted me to the fine print on the webpage: it's active on the site but it is flagged as shipping in May of that year. I was still in the dregs of April. She told me not to worry--all preorders would be fulfilled *first* out of the shipment they were expecting to receive, and only afterward would regular online orders would be filled next.

Which reassured me considerably, as I have had orders confirmed and paid for (with another vendor entirely), only to have my money refunded days later when the item sold out in the delay between confirming my order and actually pulling it off the shelf at the vendor's warehouse.

(Like, who the heck allows that? Shouldn't the online ordering computer database consult the warehouse inventory database before they actually confirm the order?)

Anyway, thank goodness for Levenger doing things a little differently. I got my pen a couple weeks later, it's in fantastic condition, and yes, I admit it's still uninked because I can't bear to sully its pristine sapphire-ness with ink.

LOL!

But I expect I'll get around to it soon. It really is too nice a pen to just have as pen drawer decor. 🤣

@taimdala I have the Sapphire Mosaic because sapphire is my birthstone. Mine is encouraging you to put ink in yours soon. Then we plan a day where we both use ours. And our pens encourage other Sapphire Mosaic owners to use theirs on the chosen day. Sapphire power!

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!

Coordinated Fountain Pen ... uh.... Use Day.

Hmm... needs work.

Oh, how about this:

Fountain Pen Double Day!

Choose your Pen. Choose your Double. Set the Date. Go!

Should we make a separate thread for this? Isn't National Fountain Pen Day the first Friday in November? If so, we need to get crackin'! How many FPN members can we get to body double with us on this?

Whaddya say, @Misfit

What say you all, FPN members?

Wanna?

😃

It's also my dad's birthstone. All the more reason to use my pen.

And gosh darn it, look what just dropped into my inbox from Levenger!

https://www.levenger.com/products/true-writer-velocity-carrara-pen

I know, I know! It's a ballpoint. But put down the pitchforks a minute, please.

I don't think I've seen so pretty a ballpoint. And the knock is the same material as the barrel.

And I have to wonder if I can swap a non-BP ink refill into it. Like ... perhaps the rollerball refill they have for the TW Rollerball of this pen? I have it already (I do like an FP + RB pair...).

If there is one thing I've outed myself as, it's as a retractable pen lover. If I can get something other than that nasty BP ink, I am seriously thinking of spending money for this pen.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
