YIKES!  Hopefully just a 1st degree burn....  But I had a burn years ago on the back of my hand (accidentally hit my hand while taking something out of the oven) and might *still* have the burn scar....

Thank you, I am and will. I just finished eating, after making lentil loaf, jaeger gravy and instant mashed potatoes. It was a lot of work, but leftovers will make it worth it. I usually make the gravy the day before. So it was a lot of work. I burned an inch size of my arm on the oven because I didn’t open the door wide enough. Stupid.

Dinner sounds wonderful but so sorry about the burn. I've done that!

My True Writers arrived today. Classic Sapphire Mosaic and Origins Anniversary. I immediately filled the Mosaic with Taccia Tsuchi Golden Wheat and the Origins with L'Artisan Pastellier Classique Vert Moyen Mousse.

The Mosaic was photographed against van Gogh's 1890 work, Wheat Fields After the Rain (the Plain of Auvers). Origins is photographed against scarf of Unicorn in Captivity from the Unicorn Tapestries.

@Ceramicist now you are making me want the Origins.

It’s really nice. I’m looking at it too.

Today, I presume for their 38th anniversary, it’s 38% off Levenger Pens & Freeleaf Paper and $38 shipping which is a big plus as I buy other stuff there and the shipping can be steep plus the 25% off on some stuff with code leaves25. This combo above is quite rare. 😄

@inkstainedruth Thanks! I was drawn to its color combination.

@Misfit Sorry to be an enabler!

@mge01parkThank you! That would make for a decent discount! Let us know what you get! ;)

It would be $38.91 for the Origin FP and $35.91 for the RB. It’s unique looking but I feel I have enough of them not used yet and many being used now. I’m passing at this point. I was then thinking about the Classic Shadow RB which would be $53.81. I use the TW RBs a lot as they take G-2 refills which is one of my favorites in the Bold and the Navy color. Going to pass as well. I have 5 of them in the rotation now. 😂

But I’m looking at one Freeleaf I want that with free shipping, etc., will probably be as good as when they do the BOGO on them which have the high shipping threshold of $75 or $100 so you have to spend much more. It seems the Freeleaf are shipping free even under $38.  That’s a secret! 🤐

There have been some really cool looking True Writers that did not come as a fountain pen. I guess that saves us money.

I’m guessing that Levenger has determined that the “market” for these new pens as fountain pens is not strong enough to warrant having them made, unlike in the past.  That surprises me somewhat, but perhaps the enthusiasm for FPs shown here is not shared by enough of Levenger’s market.

I’m actually not surprised by the lack of potential demand for the FPs on Levenger. They’re at a price point where people have a lot of decisions they can make and I feel there’s many more dynamic pens out there in the price range, a little bit below, much below & obviously higher, that I buy regularly, where I don’t buy TWs much any longer because I don’t really see the need for them. Since I started buying them in the 90s I’ve bought many for sure. My other issue is is that I really prefer a larger pen than the TW, it’s kind of on the smaller side, most people will consider it full size. They only really change the body, there’s no change in the dynamics and besides a few releases of the Select, it’s always just been this same pen and now they start getting up there like $85 to $90+. I understand there can be some discounts, although, with the sizable price increases that have taken place even with the discounts they’re now running much more than they used to and I feel they’re pretty expensive also for what you’re getting.

I play the waiting game to get True Writers on buy one get one, so a sale, or to the point they are going to be discontinued.

That sounds like a plan. There's a few nice ones in this catalog that I received today, but not in FP.

Breaking News: 😅. The sale is in everything they sell that are samples. All product lines. I’m trying to get there which is a place I went to weekly for many years. The 18th is proving to be a busy day for me though. I’ll try.

They have 60% off retiring pens today. I have some rewards burning 🥵 a hole in my pocket, maybe I’ll look. 🤔

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
