Question Of Nib Replacements For Kaweco Liliput

Recommended Posts

Just purchased my first Kaweco after being solely a Pelikan/Sailor user.

All of my Pelikan and Sailors are in the xf/f category. The Kaweco I purchased is the Fireblue Liliput in M. Excited to also try my first M nib.

Anyhow, I wanted to also try a stub nib for the first time without investing a lot. Would this stub nib fit my liliput? https://www.amazon.com/Kaweco-Sport-Classic-Black-Calligraphy/dp/B00G6HLFPA/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=kaweco+stub&qid=1579568948&sr=8-1

yes and no.

the unit you linked to is originally made for the kaweco sport, using a complete section with feed and nib. the complete thing will only work with a non-metal kaweco sport.

however, you can pull the nib out of this unit, and implant it into a liliput.

better look for the unit that is made for metal sport, liliput and the like - it's cheaper, and easier to mount.

I have replaced the nib on my copper Liliput with a 1.5 stub & I ordered mine from JETPENS because I found their site easiest to determine which Kaweco nibs can be used in each pen.

You want a 060 nib/feed/sleeve unit, which is screwed in inside the metal section. As indicated it is the same as the ones for metal Kaweco sports.

Look for Kaweco 060 in Google.

If you are to be ephemeral, leave a good scent.

Thank you a lot! I purchased the Boc Double Line nib, and waiting anxiously for it to arrive. Looks like a very interesting nib to play around with, but doesn’t appear practical upon reading.

It is for vanity writing, I mean, to make capital letters that look special and more elaborated. But it is still lots of fun. Good idea, enjoy it.

Yes. Just received it today. It is tons of fun!. The nib works better when writing with the reverse side.

I am still confused if the nib of a Kaweco SKYLINE fits a Lillyput? Ie., thread into the liliput? The Skyline cost a few dollars more than a No. 6 EF nib, so I wouldn't mind paying a few dollars more and getting an "extra" fountain pen.

Yes and no,

Kaweco uses a three (four) part system: nib + feed + collar (+ grip section).

Nib + feed are friction fit into the collar which screws into the grip section of some models (e.g. Liliput) or is glued into others (plastic Sport models: Classic & Skyline).

So, nib + feed do fit into any of these models' collars regardless of being screwed or glued, but if you want to avoid messing with nib and feed alone and just want to change the triple or the whole grip section (all four parts), then you are restricted to using only triples meant for xy or even the grip section in a specific colour for a specific model (i.e. gold plated steel nib for a Classic Sport vs. silver colour steel nib for the Skyline Sport models).

Thanks! I finally understood the differences.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
