Walt Disney First Impressions

I know, I know, it's only the ballpoint, but I thought some real-word pictures could help others who may be considering purchasing the pen. When I get the fountain version, I'll post it here.

So far, I'm really liking it. The pen has a nice heft, plus my favorite feature of all on any pen: a hinged clip. None of my other 5 Montblancs (3 Fountains, 2 Ballpoints) have a hinged clip. Front jeans pocket, here we come.

Anyone else pull the trigger on a Disney?

At last! User images of a Montblanc Disney pen.

You've broadened my meagre understanding by noting a hinged clip.

Until reading that, I'd never heard of a hinged clip.

The heft sounds like a welcome aspect.

Thank you for posting images and a handwriting sample.

That's much appreciated, enabling others to better appreciate the design elements.

As you like it, there's nothing better. May it be a treasured writer over the years.

After reflection, it bears noting that your fine images of the pen are considerably more appealing than the official photos circulated by Montblanc's Marketing Department.

Outstanding pen photography!

Congratulations, lemonde, on your purchase. I stopped by my local MB Boutique to see the pen. It is much nicer than I expected; I love the yellow and red accents, but I dont plan to buy it. Not quite my taste.

Congratulations on your purchase, lemonde. I've seen pictures of this pen but was not impressed until I held one in person earlier today at my local MB Boutique. It's quite nice in person, and does give off a whimsical vibe, reminding me that life doesn't have to be taken so seriously all the time. The shape brings images of a vintage Disney monorail system with a hint of some steampunk genre, especially in the cap.

I did not purchase it, but after getting home my mind kept going back to the experience of my encounter with the pen. If the pen keeps whispering in my ear long after I've held it, I'm afraid I might succumb to its allure.

Enjoy your pen in good health.

Thank you for sharing such great photos! I must say though, I am disappointed. While many may prefer the "extra heft" (61gm), this is not a pen that will work for me. It is just too heavy for me. So sad.

Thanks to everyone for writing in. I'm still debating getting the fountain version, not that I could ever picture writing with the Disney yellow ink. For those interested, my guy at the Montblanc Boutique says they are flying off the shelves, and the various versions are sure to become major bestsellers.

While at Magic Kingdom yesterday, I couldn't resist taking a couple more pictures of the ballpoint. If you think the pens are expensive, try visiting the parks!

I think I know the answer to these questions but Ive never considered actually buying a MB character pen before and want to double check.

Will the SE keep being produced for a certain amount of time or until a certain number of pens have been made? Assuming these are selling quickly, is there concern about them selling out? And if they're made for a given amount of time, how long are these types of pens normally made?

My Boutique is telling me two years for this Special Edition, which I believe is the norm, but others may wish to correct if untrue.

Is it possible that they'll do two color versions of this pen, like they did with the navy then maroon JFK Special Editions?

While I like the red and yellow accent, I am not a fan of the cap shape with low place clip and raised Micky Mouse accent looks lost.

This pen is not my cup of tea.
