I was sent this glorious ink to review by Diamine. What a gorgeous, deep colour with a vibrant sheen for those who love it!

Thanks for these great reviews. Do you know if Philip and Christine are available in 30ml bottles ?

Cheers

Patrick

You're welcome. I'm sorry, I don't know the answer. Having just had a look on their website, only Robert (Bob) and Maureen (Mo) are showing as available in 30 ml, I am assuming the others will be shortly. Hope that helps. Edited by Bhavna

Oh that does look nice (I gather that both Christine and Phillip are new).

Thanks for the review. And, well, not.... I haven't tried a bunch of samples of various Diamine inks as it is :wallbash: (I had a bunch of samples of the Shimmer inks to try, and then recently picked up 3 of the Guitar Series line).

This is another great review. I'm not sure I would get this one as I like it better in the swatch than in the writing. At least on my screen it looks pretty black.

They are indeed, and a lot of fun too. I haven't tried the Guitar series yet. How did you find them?

Thank you. It can be difficult getting the right balance on screen. It isn't that dark in real life. The pen used makes a difference, in my case its a wet nib which lays down more ink which had dried rich and dark. Do try a sample if you can, it is beautiful.

Haven't had a chance to try any of them yet. I went on an ink buying spree recently and other stuff got loaded up in pens first (one of the others being Diamine Earl Grey, which so far is behaving nicely in my Sailor Pro-Gear Slim with the zoom nib, but I haven't really had a chance to put the ink through its paces yet, especially with the exotic nib...).

Me too, if it helps...! I do love Earl Grey, such a lovely ink. Very gentle when one needs time out from the world and colours feel too boisterous.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
