Walt Disney

Ok, so Im in Orlando on holiday and happened to find myself in the MB boutique in Mall of Millenia. I may have been price checking the Kipling versus home (or not if my wife ever sees this). Its more expensive due to the £:$ collapse BTW....and....I asked about the Walt Disney...

They showed me the bible and O. M. G. What a pen. Its bloody awesome, in the standard and the LE versions. They will get it early, but should be out in the UK in December.

Its the first pen in a long time that has gone onto my must have list and when Im home Im straight into Bond Street to see if I can pre-order.

MB certainly got their design mojo back with this one!

The images I saw had no MM on the clip. The clip design was based on the pipes from the Steamboat Willy boat.

There was a MM outline that looked to be embossed on the barrel.

Has anyone seen any pictures of this on the net? I saw some descriptions but would love to see what it looks like, I'm a big Disney guy (and a DVC owner) so I wouldn't mind snagging one of these.

I see the special edition and the limited edition on the yearly MB book at my reseller. I didn't see the Artisan version (don't know if it was in the book or not). I have the photo someone posted on the forum few months ago before they were removed, we have a good view on the special edition, less of the limited. If needed I can send you a link in PM.

A couple of pictures have been posted (and obviously removed :) ) on this forum. I quite liked the pen, in particular the ballpoint version.

Does it have Micky Mouse on the clip?

Apparently on the barrel (according to the photo posted by another FPN member a couple of months ago).

I was born on Walt Disney's birthday, and he was a big influence on me when I went into the animation business. so of course I have to see this pen. Though at the reported price of $3000, I'm unsure how to justify it to the wife. Meanwhile, I'm looking for pens that Disney himself used. He reportedly was photographed with a Sheaffer Balance, but he was associated with promoting the Eversharp Skyliner. Guess I "need" both.

I saw pictures of it online a few months ago and have been waiting to see more ever since (those leaked images are still available on FPGeeks).

I wasn't that impressed with those pictures but I saw the official marketing book yesterday at a MB shop and was more intrigued. The sales person said the pen will be released around November or December.

I don't really care for some of the Disney animated movies (it seems like the protagonists' parents are often evil, dead, or incompetent) but I've really fallen for the Disney magic in their other services (we just got back from our first Disney cruise with our five young kids and loved it). I have the Disney Colibri pen and have been looking for the Namiki Disney pen for a while. I'm not sure if I'll buy the MB pen but I'm definitely considering it.

November arrives two days later here in East Asia.

2020 will be 鼠年, The Year of the Rat.

Is there any sign of an American Mouse clad in red and yellow, running around the back stock rooms of Montblanc Boutiques?

I saw the black special edition at MB boutique today including the ink and notebook. The cap has a dome shape. There is a yellow ring on the section and red ring on the piston part. The MM motif is on the back of the barrel. Very cute.

Your local Montblanc boutique is already displaying this model?

Remarkable! So much earlier than in other boutiques...or is it already officially on sale everywhere?

Did you handle it...or buy it?

What about the weight?

Is it a noticeably heavy model...or average?

Anything interesting about the ink or the notebook?

I saw the Artisan Edition (LE90; 37 kEuro) last week and handled it. No MM but other motifs from Disney; very colorful and (to me) sixties comic-style

Not my cup of tea but according to HQ the up-to-date most asked for Artisan LE.

After looking on the American Montblanc website I found that all the versions (minus the artisan) are already listed but you do need to search for them - they are not listed with the other GC editions. Looks like the SE, ink and notebook are already available for purchase.

Thank you for posting the links above.

It seems that the Montblanc Walt Disney is off and running.

May it find a welcome reception everywhere!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
