Calligraphy Gold Leaf 2019?

Hi Guys,

I was browsing the MB website and found this new solitaire calligraphy rollerball. Upon a simple google search I also found a hyperlink to a fountain pen too but the link has seemingly stopped working. The rollerball appears to still work.

In case it stops working. Quote from the rollerball

"The Meisterstück Solitaire Calligraphy Rollerball is a contemporary interpretation of the classic black and gold colours. This writing instrument, made of black translucent lacquer, is embellished with real gold leaf applied by hand and features a full black PVD clip and three full black PVD rings embossed with the Montblanc brand name."

Thoughts?

Kind Regards

Oh, cool.

The hyperlink does read:

119700meisterstueck-sol-gold-leaf-flex-nib-fountain-pen

Which can easily be separated as:

item no: 119700 Meisterstuck Solitaire Gold Leaf Flex nib Fountain pen.

The body is likely the same as the rollerball... its just a matter of playing with the nib...!

(Sure, we all knew about this months ago, but its nice to see!)

It's indeed nice to see.

Progress from maybe to possibly to fait accompli.

I hope that it will be well received by the market.

Looks like they have decided to raise the price on what was originally proposed, which is a shame. I want to know a lot more about that nib but I am seriously tempted.

PVD? What's that?

It's a great look. Can't see the FP (hdw's link takes me to an empty MB page?) but the rollerball body is attractive.

Thanks.

Once again a mistake from MB, as these pieces will be launched in September, not before...

@HDW : yes, it is the one!

The gold leaf version of the Calligraphy Meisterstück is a 146, looking like the Louis Cartier finish launched some years ago, as said by RSVP ; I have only seen the version with a soft Calligraphy nib.

On the same time, a soft nib 149 will be launched, with its regular finish in black resin.

Concerning the prices of the golden leaf, I will not argue but the 149 will not raise far above its normal price.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
