Hi :)

 

I mainly collect pieces from the 75th Anniversary collection. As part of the 75th Anniversary collection, the pieces that were limited to only 75 pieces, included two solid gold watches. One was a white gold watch with salmon dial that was part of the Helmut Newton collection and the other was a yellow gold skeleton watch that was part of the 75th anniversary 149 skeleton fountain pen. I own the solid gold watch that was part of Helmut Newton collection and is shown below:

Does anyone know the current market value for the 75th anniversary skeleton watch? Its proving very difficult to find the correct price for this watch, because the one I've seen listed online is unrealistically priced!

I dont collect watches but I have seen them listed in the $30-40K range. Probably can be had for a fair bit less.

If "airline international" is asking $75,000.00 the realistic price will be $25,000.00 at maximum!

If "airline international" is asking $75,000.00 the realistic price will be $25,000.00 at maximum!

This is the listing i saw on eBay. Ive only ever seen one that was sold at auction and that was back in May 2013 at the Sothebys Watch auction in Hong Kong. The watch sold for $8,050 (6,233)

Axel you are correct! The watch shouldn't be anymore than that!

I don't know what a realistic appraisal price for it would be.

I agree as well! Ive seen far more of the 75th skeleton fountain pen for sale online than the watch. I would have thought it would have been the opposite. Ive got an offer from two dealers who both want $45,000 for the watch, which is far more than what the fountain pen sells for.

 

Their was actually another one for sale at Sothebys in 2008 in Hong Kong with estimate for $5151 to $7726 but it didn't sell.

33.5mm diameter is quite small - is your current example the same size?

 

I have a MB Nicolas Rieussec, which is 41mm but wears small compared to other 40mm in my collection.

 

I also favour items from the 75th Anniversary collection; im a sucker for the MOP & RG combo!

My example is 38mm :) Ive got skinny wrists, so it fits well. The skeleton watch is indeed very small in diameter. Its not a watch that i would wear, but instead would be put on display in the magnifier glass dome that came with the watch.

Its been just over 2 years since i made this thread about the Montblanc 75th Anniversary Solid Gold Skeleton Watch! And its finally happened :) Here she is :)

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
