Diplomat Excellence A2 Problem

MightyEighth

Recommended Posts

I bought this Diplomat Excellence A2 a few months ago. In general I like it quite a bit, but it has a problem that bugs me enough that I may need to give up on it. The problem is that small amounts of ink collect around the circumference of the flared out edge near the bottom of the section (where the arrow is pointing) and it gets all over my hands when I write, try as I might not to let my fingers drift down that far.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how this might be mitigated?

Thanks,

Marc

Either the feed's not seated properly, or there's a crack somewhere.

Diplomat pens come with a 4 year guarantee. They may ask you for a receipt/invoice, but they'll probably send you a replacement part.

The cap on my three and a half year old Diplomat broke - they sent me a new cap in the post after I e-mailed them a copy of my Amazon receipt. It took about a week.

The e-mail address for repairs is on this page http://www.diplomat-pen.com/contact/

They'll respond within a couple of days.

Thanks. I'll follow-up on that.

I concur - contact diplomat. They did not require proof of purchase to send me an entirely new nib and section for my traveler when it had converter seating problems.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)

MightyEighth,

I purchased a Diplomat pen on ebay and discovered that the cap nearly fell off the pen by its own weight. I contacted their service people in Staunton, Virginia, and received excellent service with no receipt. Here's their web page. http://www.mydiplomatpen.com/

Best wishes,

Craig

Thanks. I bought the pen through the Yafa distributor when they were at the last Bertrams Inkwell pen fair. It had to be ordered and I picked it up at Berts several weeks later. So, tomorrow Im going to take it in and first see what Bert has to say. Im going anyway, so its plenty convenient.
