Montblanc Is Revamping Their Standard Ink Line!

Sorry, no idea.

But...

Royal Blue is among the most used inks from Montblanc, so they may keep a blue ink like that for sure even it has been reformulated many times in the past already.

Also a blue/black ink has been part of their regular line of inks during the last decades so I don't worry about that.

I gave up stocking up on favorite inks. Counting over 1000 bottles of inks I learnt that "THE" next favorite ink is just a few weeks away ;-)

Cheers

Michael

I think that is old...Oyster Grey is gone and replaced by Cool Grey...at least from what I understand.

I liked Oyster Grey, but liked the Einstein SE grey ink more because it was slightly darker. I hope Cool Grey will be slightly darker too like the Einstein ink.

They look identical! Thanks for that!

I read that it is suppose to be a little darker...I will wait until the dust settles...I have wasted enough money on ink...

Please share the source of your understanding about MB ink. It seems to go against most opinions here. I'm genuinely interested, not trying to change your mind.

Just for the record, I was in my local B&M store in Germany on Saturday and spotted these along side the older bottles of Corn Poppy Red, Burgundy, Lavender Purple, etc. The new bottle boxes look neat (white instead of black based packaging, like they went "Apple" on us), but most importantly, the price of both inks was exactly the same: 20€. No price hikes here, which is what I was worried about the most. (That, and the fate of my precious Lavender Purple, but I refuse to "Hamsterkauf" a backup of it).

The colours they had in stock were Pop Pink, Modena Red, Cool Grey, and Manganese Orange.

Welcome to FPN. I purchased three bottles of permanent blue from the Canadian Montblanc site. That definitely was a Hamsterkauf or blind panic buying.

In the saturated parts the Cool Grey in that sample looks darker than Oyster Grey, and glad to see it has the same kind of shading I really enjoyed with Oyster Grey. Will definitely get a bottle when my current Oyster Grey runs out.

Thank you! If I had less than 10 bottles of ink, I might seriously consider backups. Seeing as how my ink collection already spans two drawers, though, I want to make a weak attempt something coming near to self-control. I do love that Lavender Purple, though. MB will get some serious side-eye from me if they put it out of production without having a worthy successor to that one in the new box lineup.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
