J. Herbin Corail Des Tropiques

As a huge fan of J. Herbin inks, I was thrilled to learn about five new standard inks introduced in 2018. I've got the bottles and I'll review them shortly.

New inks come in standard J. Herbin glass bottles that contain 30 ml of the writing fluid.

CdT is a decent, moderately saturated ink. I dislike the color, but appreciate the behaviour. I won't judge you if you buy a bottle.

Nah... I’m a hot pink kind of guy. This one is too lame...

Aha... then it might be my kind of colour :-)

But no, pink inks are not for me (at least for writing, but this one looks like a nice pastel colour for drawing)

I'm not a bright-pink/fucsia kind of woman, I prefer the pastel tones of pink, so this is right up my alley.

Since Sailor's inflated prices I gave up on Sakura-Mori, but this looks like it could be a great substitute.

Thank you for the review! ^^

I'll pass on this one. If it's as orange as Michael R's picture, then that is my death color. As in the color that makes me look like death warmed over if I wear it.

I don't look good in many oranges as it is, but that one is especially unflattering. I've hated it all my life for that reason.

This one I'd have to see in person, so it's a "maybe" for me. Depends on how orange it ends up really being.

Thanks for the review.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Well, that's good about the behavior bummer about the lack of saturation.

Thank you for the wonderful review as always.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I came here because I was looking for a coral ink, and this one looks just pink to me. Michael's sample looks much more like what I was looking for. I'm not sure whether I'll end up buying one of not. If so, I'd try the 10 ml bottle, or maybe the cartridges, to see whether it's the pink or coral shade when seen in person.

I received my 10ml today and man is this ink hard to photograph. It goes down a little warmer than it dries but is definitely a lobstery, pastel, true coral to my eyes. This pic is colour correct on my s9 phone screen but other screens may vary of course:

Eesh that pic came out really dark on here but it looks just like Michael R's picture in person.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
