Jost voted for the dark, greener teal hoping it would be almost similar to the EoC....

I think the name Aurora Borealis deserved to win this , great name although I think it does not represent the color teal very well

I agree that Aurora Borealis implies brighter teals and it seems people want a darker one.

Aurora Borealis is not the most unique name, but the name selection isn't the strongest it seems either...

It will be interesting to see what Diamine creates, they have a lot of darker blues in their lineup already....

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Not the most unique, I agree but when you see the other options then it's no wonder it is the runaway leaders (as you've said)

"Reddit r/fountainpens ink quick update

Hi everyone,

The 2nd poll is now closed, you can view the results here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd6RxfDX75mBUaSUkIYbDzklYKps96l27O0wQltK-d6rmomUg/viewanalytics

The winner is a Teal ink with stronger shades of green, named "Aurora Borealis" that is dark enough to be used as an everyday writing ink.

For the next and final vote Diamine will create a handful of ink swatches for us to choose from and we will vote for the final colour.

Thank you everyone for your support and votes."

Can't wait for the last poll to show up, hope there is a unique teal swatch being offered

They have that already. It's called Jalur Gemilang

Sorry, but teal isn't the first color that went to my mind after seeing the JG... Didn't you claimed it to be a more blue color ink in the review?

While it's true that the main colour is blue, this ink exhibits lovely teal shading.

Add lightness and simplicate.

Yes and they are beautiful, but me personally would not call the JG a teal ink

Try it with a 1.5 stub. I just did. You might change your mind :)

Unfortunately I do not have any nib wider than an M since it's not my preference...

I understand though if there are impressions of JG being teal on a broader nib since I have not tried it. Now let's just wait and see what Diamine has in store for us regarding the reddit ink.

It's a bright blue leaning teal shade that's quite hard to capture from a scanner.

There's a new colour? We'll just have to reinvent the wheel! :P

Teal, green leaning, dark... Don't we have November Rain already? (Plus tons of similar colours from other brands, Miruai, Petrol...)

Agreed. It is unlikely they will create something truly unique

I am glad however, that Aurora borealis was chosen as the name instead of the first round winner. I wish they could make a truly copper ink (not ancient copper) also with a green sheen. Actually, any non-shimmer metallic ink would be unique: gold, silver, etc
