Montblanc Heritage Collection Rouge Et Noir Spider

Hello,

It seems Montblanc has released the new collection of the R&N Spider Metamorphosis in coral, black and LE1906. There is a really big difference with the price (around 650€) of this 1906 and the 1906 snake, maybe due to the web in Ag but I think it is really expensive for this model. And I'm not really fan with the cap of the different models, I prefer the snake ones.

The pens are with relatively long and thin barrels. Was this the preferred size for MB buyers in the 1920s?

The Rouge et Noir Spider Metamorphosis came to the boutique together with the Homer. I am not interested in the regular edition, but the weighty 1906 edition feels in hands. As said the spider is too pricey.

My issue with the pens last year was their thinness and that has not changes so an easy pass for me. i do hope those who buy it enjoy it.

From photos, I am also not enamored withthe gold spider on the web version.

I am perplexed - I understand its a limited edition but still the cost is too high. Is it because a thin and slim barrel requires complex techniques to introduce a piston system?

The silver overlay is not entire, which I understand is the beauty.

I picked one up earlier this evening. Head over to Recent Purchases for pics if interested

For the eye, I am not sure the webs help with the proportions.

On the Limited Edition 1906, what is the barrel material under the sterling web overlay? Is it ebonite, like the snake LE 1906, or Precious Resin? I don't like the color of the stones used for the eyes. They clash with the coral portion of the cap.

Does anyone else find complaints about Montblanc pricing tiresome? If you think a pen is too expensive, don't buy it. Comment on what you like about the pen, what you don't like about it, do a writing sample, whatever, but please spare us your exclamations of penury or parsimony. They are unseemly.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

It is possible to have means to buy a pen and yet think it overpriced. It's also useful information for buyers – elsewhere has better for the cost.

Imo the stones for eyes look funny... they should have used a single or two stones for the body instead.

Hmm. Been away from FPs for a while. I like the 1906 model and grats to those who bought them.

With regard to normal models I find them to be inferior in comparison with the previous snake ReN in terms of design. I think if they implemented spider nibs on these models as well they may have been more sellable. What is this spider theme and this 'metamorphosis'? Can anyone enlighten me on the background/inspiration for this series?

the clip design is meh...the 1906 edition is great, but like the snake pen, spider should have been bigger, focal point.

also instead of orange, dark maroon would have looked better for cap top.

Yes – the more I see the less I like.

How did MB miss this suspended spider idea? That’s a fantastic idea! Shame on you MB for not doing that - and give this man a job in your design dept !
