Yes, do let us know. I'm waiting on my dealer to get one early next week and will probably have to decide by Friday.

How is everyone who bought the Homer upon release finding it a week on?

I had a look at one today in London. Its a little heavier than the 149, but well balanced (unposted). I also had been trying to work out the cap design, and have taken the following photos which show the head on the barrel flowing into the cap. Its a nice pen, the detail on the rings is beautiful. I also picked up some of the Homer blue ink.

Thank you! Ive been trying to make heads or tails of the cap for a while (looks like I should have been trying to make heads out of it)!

Really appreciate the images.

Unfortunately, it still reminds me of a pen left out too long in the sun or casting gone terribly wrong.

Horrible! but that's just me thinking out loud...

What were they thinking of?

Oh, well, some people like it...

I dont know why, and maybe its just me, but based on those pictures it looks like greaves or Greek shin armor. The back

Of which would be Achilles heel? Maybe the horse face is intertwined in the greaves design ? Anyone else see this ?

...And I thought that I was imagining something which wasn't there.

Yes, I thought the same when I saw the various photos.

I struggled to see the horse head until a recently posted photo set made it clear.

The design details strongly suggested greaves, but there weren't any comments to that effect until yours.

I hadn't thought through to the implication of the Achilles heel.

Thank you for posting this.

I am not sure if I am going to buy it. I am beginning to realize its no ordinary molding technique. It would give, I think, an interesting tactical experience to the user.

Wow. Good observation! I have a feeling there are more details to the design. You are spot on. Now I can't un-see it!

Myself included!! There's no accounting for taste :-)

As a slight aside, I really want to study these photos but at the same time, I want the first time I see it properly to be when I un-box my own... I wished it would hurry up and be delivered to the AD (who then needs to post it to me aarghh!)

Mine is in Germany... I can't wait to have my OB nib and my pen in my hand.

~ Reed_thoughts:

When it reaches you it will be a happy day.

I'm especially keen to see the nib itself.

There have been a number of nice photos posted, but I'd love to see more nib design detail.

May your wait pass quickly!

Thanks Tom!

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, and I understand... But I love how it looks, the history behind it... And it's the Third 149 sized writers Ed.

I grew up fantasizing about homer's work and the entire ancient Greek culture... The history, the wars, the religion, the epic struggles, the politics, the poems... Having a pen that reflects that, and one that has so many little details is amazing to me.

Oh, this will.also be my first OB 149 nib! My other nib is a semiflex fine/medium.

Well said.

I think this is the (only) selling point.

I hope you enjoy your new OB nib.

Harsh! Especially to the many of us who disagree and have invested a large sum of money into buying one ;-P
