Did you check the same position? Mine is exactly in the same position as shown in reed-thoughts picture.

...so not all are the same ;-)

Sorry for the iPhone photo. I don't think there is a hole.

Hmm. My nib is being worked on right now so I cant check mine. Ill have to wait two weeks before I can check. :(

Maybe its the arrow hole in Achilles heel! Because that would be the right spot as far as my eye can tell from the pic.

Isn't life about mistakes ? ;-)

I often spot false statement in articles like this :-(

Also I will contact Montblanc soon to hear what they have to say about the little pin hole in some barrels!

Do you use your Homer regularly? I've noticed that the sections got scratched (most likely by the cap threads) pretty quickly.

Cheers

I've used 5 full fills since I got it, meaning it's been on my daily rotation ever since getting it... And yes, the section looks hugely scratched up!

I too have the little pin... Weird.

Still, I'm loving my pen!

Will try to smoothen the threads on the metal insert in the cap; they appear pretty sharp.

Hopefully this will prevent further scratches.

Always wonder how this does not pop up during product development or is ignored.

Cheers

Montblanc seems to not care about the scratches. I wonder how many Homers have the pin hole? Pilot/Namiki do better jobs on preventing scratches. Likewise my Patek Philippe nautilus is scratch magnet too. I still feel heartache when getting the scratches. However I will wear the watch or write with the pens.

I doubt the scratches are caused not just because of the metal threads but the stopper. You can see the sharp uncontinuous threads to match the stopper. The scratches are almost located on the right side.
