Nishant, would you say this applies to both the versions?

I believe so.

Despite what most would say, the recent WEs get hard to track down after a couple of years. Think Tolstoy and Shakespeare. The used ones are holding value and new ones command a premium.

And MB is going to keep getting better in creating artificial scarcity. Add to that, the market for FPs is growing.

Thank you so much for the clarification.

What you've very kindly explained helps me better appreciate it.

May I please ask a question or two?

Is the helmet design the same color as the nib, as opposed to filled with a contrasting color?

Does the helmet design have intricate details, or is it more of a basic engraved sketch?

If these questions are in any sense frivolous, please ignore them.

Tom K.

It is just one colour, with a simple helmet engraving. I really liked it, the nib is the same colour as the cap rings and clip.

That's what I've wanted to know.

Thank you for explaining the nib.

What you've written increases my interest in it.

It's a welcome offering from Montblanc.

Such creativity of design is nice to see.

@ Tom Kellie

Considering they are 16 years apart, MB literally put a twist on it i.e. barrel. :D

Having seen it I can say I found it to be a very appealing pen but its a bit odd posted and if you hold the pen quite high - as I do - it's a bit of a drama to write with. If you write with a very low down grip and have smaller to medium hand size then it should nestle just right. Sadly, it didn't suit me.

I just found out my pen is still in Germany... And my estimated day for having the pen is about 2-3 more weeks.

Patience... I have to give time for the MB people to craft the OB nib

All of that heating, whirring, super-fine grinding, tap-tap-tapping and exquisitely sensitive fitting takes time.

The gnomes of Hamburg give their utmost to make nibs just right.

I hope that your OB will be one of those nibs which gives the highest writing pleasure from the very first inking.

Oh all that talk of tap tap tapping neibelung has me wondering why on earth has Montblanc never made a Wagner pen? I would definitely sell a kidney for that.

Be careful what you ask for. They would probably do the Bugs Bunny version with Elmer Fudd singing “Kill the Wabbit...” on the cap.

When the last pen from the Limited Edition Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd pen sold out, they'd post a sign in Montblanc boutiques around the globe:

Th..th..th..that's all folks!

Ordered mine today with a nib exchange to "OM" (maybe the rarest nibs on modern Montblanc pens ?!).

I'm really curious receiving it as I have not seen it in real life yet. Only the ballpoint and cap-less rollerball were on display in a Saint Malo store a few days ago but I only got a glimpse... they looked huge!

This is one of the recent editions I'm really looking forward to as it is an interesting approach design-wise.

Also I'm getting the ink and ballpoint refills.

Cheers

Michael

Oh nice!

I'll wait for the Road Runner edition.

ACME rocket barrel and an anvil motif on the nib.

If the clip is gently double-clicked, “beep-beep” will be heard.

Agatized petrified wood from Arizona will be incorporated into the design.

I waited six months for my Le Grand Blue Hour with OM nib, but I'm very pleased.

Has anyone who took delivery of a Homer had any impressions from daily use over the last few weeks?

I am tempted to get one this weekend.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
