How Many Ink Bottles Do You Have?

Me too! Thank goodness for inexpensive Chinese pens. It's fun to try the same ink with different nibs.

Yes, thanks for the Chinese pens, of course. But Im gravitating more to not-so-inexpensive pens now: I’ve bought 2 Sailors (still didnt arrived :-/), a Lamy Aion, etc.

And with that I still need to shrink my collection, there is no space, that copes well with less pen acquisitions.

Oh gosh, I know what you mean. I'm also graviating beginner level well-known brands such as Faber-Castell Loom, Sailor Profit Junior, etc. But I'm holding myself back until after I've applied for a PhD so I can celebrate shamelessly! ; )

Thanks to a quick shipment from a recent Ebay purchase, today I have ONE more than yesterday! (This has been a good week; four new bottles came my way.)

Thread necromancy, but I had to respond to this one with,"Oh dear." Because I'm on the higher end of collectors, with over 100 bottles of ink, around 70 samples, and a few dozen ink cartridges for my pocket pens. Did I mention that I also have over 125 pens?

Fortunately, this thread let me know I'm not the most addicted. Close. But not quite.

I've realized I have a problem and decided to go with the baby step of giving away some of the samples I have to a friend who's a professional artist, because they're dupes of bottled ink I have. This, while I'm expecting four new bottles of ink in the mail.

But it's a start, right?

Currently 14. I need to stop buying Sailor inks (except a couple of GvFC bottles and a little of Diamine and Iroshizuku, Sailor is pretty much the only ink I buy), but since 50ml are discontinued I cannot resist buying when I see them reasonably priced, hence I have 9 of them :)

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

As one of my pen pals said, unless you are buying ink and the kids are going hungry, you are probably okay.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Samples and swaps have taken me far down the rabbit hole. It is fun here. (I have not counted bottles or samples in total, but 5 bottles arrived yesterday and a 6-vial swap package is on its way.)

Ohhh Gee!

One month ago I discovered that Diamine 30ml inks are dirt cheap on Cult Pens so I bought 15 of them! That is like 35 USD shipping included. So this month I will do it again! I have decided stop buying pens and try to invest a little bit on inks instead. i think you get more fun of a new ink than on a new pen... Or at least that is true for me.

I refuse to count. Is only too much, if you think is too much. I personally think that whatever amount of ink you have is the RIGHT amount.

Its becoming more difficult to to ‘hide in plain sight’ my not-small-anymore pens & inks collection.

Just counted right now: 19 ink bottles: 30ml, 40ml, 50ml, 90ml.

And that’s not counting ink samples and the ones that are still flying or in some warehouse in transit to me.

Too much?

Ten Bottles and six cartridge boxes.

Right now I'm in a bottleneck :lticaptd:with all my pens inked and new colors awaiting to be tested.

Need to write more

BTW, I LOVE the aesthetics of the pens, I find specially beautiful the way nibs look, but when I write, oh boy! The colors! :puddle:

Maybe 40 or 50 bottles. I've never tried to count them but I will now.

The scary part is that three quarters of them are some shade of blue.

I just hope I don't get interested in another colour

About twenty, mostly blue and orange/red. At this point, no more ink! I haven't even finished a bottle. Once I do that, then I will consider getting more.

In the two figures. There are only two points on the ink curve that matter, and one more than the other. The first is the point at which you have more than you'll ever need. That occurs early. The second is when the amount of ink becomes grounds for divorce. The key to happiness is to remain between those points. And then there's the question of cellarage...

My addiction has grown worse. I now have 14 bottles of ink on order.

I have no kids to feed, and I'm not at the "must live on ramen for the next three months" stage, so why not?

Now, granted, many of these inks I'm using while I experiment with pen and ink drawing techniques (I'm terrible, so don't ask for pictures).

I have exactly fifty different bottled inks (and I only counted recently by virtue of having done one sample card per ink, except for the unopened bottle of Pilot black ink that came with one of my pens), and four unopened bottles that are double-ups.

The only bottle of ink I have ever depleted – many years ago – is (sadly) Parker Penman sapphire, and of course I don't have any more bottles of it.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.
