You can try peytonstreetpens, they offer used montblancs at reasonable prices and still a hefty discount from retail.

Though honestly the best prices are on ebay. Montblanc's are good pens so when buying you just need to buy from someone who has a return policy and inspect the pen carefully (no cracks, nib not severely bent, etc). There's a good chance the montblanc 146 from the 90's that you buy from ebay just needs a flush and you're good to go.

Wheelers Luxury Gifts in London often has across the store discounts, if your sign up for their newsletter then you will be notified when they have an offer on.

I recommend Dennis at La Couronne du Comte in the Netherlands. The other dealers that have been recommended here have excellent reputations as well.

Only if they actually "want" to ship to you, I would recommend for new items: Appelboom, great prices and good service, they'll ship to you.

Personally I like appelboom. Joost is great to work with, and the service is awesome. They allow you to order the o3b nib, sending the pen directly to Montblanc for a nib swap, as o3b isn't a standard nib grade.

Thank you for that information.

That's very good to know.

I have yet to purchase a pen online, but fountain pen hospital, appelboom, and chatterly luxuries are three I seem to see often.

I tend to go to my local boutique, which I have the fortune of it being only 15 minutes away.

I've already discussed the desire to eventually get an 03b, it seems to be 'Available, but you do have to know how to get it ordered' here in the US it seems it's a special order nib swap that requires a little extra effort.

From Iguana Sell they order the O3B direct from MB and then send it on to you. It shows up as selection in their online ordering. They may send one of their pens to MB and then back, but I don't think so. Took about 3 - 4 weeks from order to my door in the States. Great communication and the customer service is outstanding.
