Wait... SBRE Brown is made by Diamine. Now comes in Akkerman bottles. That seems to confirm something...

HAHA.... I thought the same thing...

I love browns... but this is a very red-brown... or orange brown (depending on light). I really wanted one of the small original bottles (30ml I think)... The new bottle (120ml) is a tad too big.

Yes, it was 30ml (the old one released in 2015). I did not like it that much and passed it along to someone else.

I dunno why...I want to like this ink...I want to support him...but I just can't get into brown inks. I've tried a few of them and something about the browns just don't strike my fancy *hangs head* maybe someday he'll come out with another color I can support.

In the hope that someone involved sees this:

Demand seems to be high, but could also be limited so it is understandable that Akkerman do not want to commit to too large a batch, hence two small batches sold out. However, if they allowed pre-ordering, they could then make a batch sufficient to cover that and leave a sensible stock. Customers happy and low commercial risk.

On other matters, I thought it was well established that Diamine made Akkereman inks, the only question being whether they were standard Diamine colours re-named, or whether they were in fact different.

Are they 120ml? I thought they were all 60ml now.

The Dutch Masters series from Akkerman was 120 ml. The regular Akkerman are 60 ml.

Oh darn. No way do I want a 120ml bottle. So if anyone wants to split a bottle (and keep the bottle) I'm your gal. :)

How can it be "well established" ?? Akkerman has never confirmed Diamine make their inks. Anything less than that is just speculation.

You are of course correct. I just seem to recall a lot of chatter a couple of years or so back from which I drew a clear conclusion that the inks were made by Diamine and Akkerman would not deny it.

My impression was that whilst the evidence may not have reached the level of proof required in criminal prosecutions, the balance of probability required in civil cases was met. But before we get too serious, this is only a lighthearted interest on my part. I get great pleasure from my ink collection, but who makes what for whom is unimportant. If one small manufacturer can secure its survival by making own brand products for others, or whether those other specialists actually manufacture their own is not important.

And you are totally right... it doesn't matter who makes it... Although, I rather not buy the same ink on a different bottle... ;)

I missed out which is fine because I know they'll make more. Not to mention I'd prefer US distribution to minimize shipping costs. I would have been fine with 60ml bottles which, according to my exhaustive calculations, would have also conveniently doubled the available units when compared to 120ml bottles.

And finally, I hope that perhaps there are even more SBRE Brown inks in the future. For example, KWZ has their "azure #1", "azure #2" and so-on. It would be interesting to see a range of browns.

Overall I think it's a great concept!

I thought the 120ml bottles were way too big. The 60ml would be a more practical size for most people IMO.

There's long been a belief that Akkerman ink is just rebottled Diamine, and there is some very comprehensive supporting evidence, however on this occasion, Stephen says in his video that he got a new batch made up by Diamine, then did a deal with Akkerman to use their bottles (as he also has a good relationship with them).

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
