I'm A Sad, Pathetic Stationery Junkie.

I just got all of my notebooks, notepads, filler paper, and stationery out of storage because my new furniture is finally here. The amount of vintage Sanrio and Morning Glory is staggering. I used it in high school and uni,  so it’s all at least FP legible on one side with a Western F nib. There’s some Crane and other paper from previous generations in there too.

Top 5 (in no particular order) of 30 currently inked pens:

Parker Duofold Centennial IM, RO Rose Gold Antiqua

Parker Duofold Lady needlepoint, MB Cool Grey

Pelikan M800 needlepoint, Kuretake Shikon

Platinum PKB 2000, Platinum Cyclamen Pink

Waterman 52 EF, Herbin Bleu Pervenche

We would love to see pictures.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

It’s still messy and not well organized, but here’s a few of the shelves  and I will pull out my favorites and add another post later.

I’m so excited for the rediscovery! It’s so much, I think I will make a stand-alone post of pictures when I have a better idea of what I have and can group things together.

I got these notebooks this past week.  They are by Denik, and are 5.25 x 8.25”. I like the one on the right the least.  My favorite is on the left  large.1903F867-B9CB-4114-8753-DD2A4182C9CC.png.eea422921a854586f6b40acd2aeb0337.png

why doesn't that surprise me?

That they are space themed?  It shouldn’t surprise you!  I wasn’t paying attention to the size, so was a bit surprised. If I were devious, I’d use it to write letters, but postage might not be welcome to you to have to write your reply in it, and send it back to me.  I’ll use a Milquerius notebook instead. I almost started a letter to you today.

  • 2 weeks later...

I’m starting to want an A5 size Leuchtturm notebook with 120gsm paper in Nordic Blue. The paper looks white, which would be nice.

So... I haven't decided where to get my hobonichi from. Anderson, yoseka, or jetpens. The first two I can add more ink samples to my order. Anyone know if any of them stand out pricewise?

I’ve shopped with all three. I think it depends on the brands of ink you want. And the free shipping threshold. Having said that, I have never bought any hobonichi products.

I buy them directly from Hobonichi.  They always throw little exclusive extras in.

It was a sad day for this junkie. I took my son to Office Depot for Back to School Stuff. He's just started his freshman year of college. He walks around and says, "Mom, your supply closet has better stuff.  Let's go to your office."  Now I do agree that I had better stuff, but not buying goodies just seemed wrong.

How lucky you are to have such a discerning young man for a son!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
