I'm A Sad, Pathetic Stationery Junkie.

Smaller Office Depot around here means less stationery/notebooks. I’m glad mine still carries notebooks.

Oh the cruelty.  My dad looks at me and says, you know, the big Office Depot is closing down for a new smaller location ....

OMG, I have more stuff than an office supply store now.  BUT it's such a great deal...

The problem isn't you - the office supply store doesn't have enough stuff! ;)

I agree.

Sad, pathetic stationery junkie? I just climbed into a dusty construction dumpster to salvage a few sheets of cream-colored Rössler A4 writing paper and two (almost) pristine Clairefontaine A5 notebooks (Seyès-ruled).

I am thinking next maybe I can fashion a sign written on a scrap of corrugated box cardboard and stand on a corner begging for note cards…with winter coming, I wonder if maybe there are shelters for people like us…

Are we down on our luck, oppressed by the bourgeoisie, or have I come to this state as a result of my own poor choices?

I seem to have acquired the habit of making a bee line for the stationery aisle at any thrift store my wife and I happen to pass.

All of my old, reliable sources are long gone.  Now, there is only the thrill of the hunt.

I get it. When I spot good paper in the wild, it it hard to contain myself.

I got these while at Barnes & Noble today.  It was a bit of impulse buying since I was there. I went for the Cavallini constellation pouch.

The notebook covers are two things I like: maps and Space.

I have and love the bag!

That mixed paper one looks fun. If you use it, please let us know how suitable the papers are.

It’s almost like you know me!  I so do buy notebooks, and not use them for years.  I had no reason to buy these than I liked the covers.

I’d say the Planets cover notebook has half of each styles. The first photo shows the paper in the first half of the notebook.  The next photo is the other half.

The lined page has the six boxes on the other side, and the graph paper has blank paper on the reverse side. There is an outside pocket on the PVC cover. Then inside pockets inside the covers, with an extra pocket in back with a pen loop. The extra pocket is credit card size. The pockets wouldn’t hold much.

The paper felt heavy vs a Leuchtturm notebook.

Let us know how you like the 100gsm paper in the Paperblanks Flexis, and/or how it performs.

The Paperblanks band mentions acid free paper from managed forests. The cover has gold toned accents. I just noticed while taking off the band.  It has a pocket in the back, and a red ribbon bookmark. The maps are from a Dutch mapmaker in the 17th century. I could try some pens on the last page sometime.

If it is usual Paperblanks paper, it should be very FP friendly. At least all Paperblanks notebooks I've got to date were.

Another paper lovers thread convinced me - against my policy of the last few months - to buy some notebooks again.

Kokuyo thin paper from Jetpens. I tried the paper when I bought the Yamamoto FPfriendly paper sampler some time ago, and I just could not resist anymore... Got some notebooks, and some pads. I promise they won't all disappear into the stack... when they finally get here, they will move to first place in the queue... well, maybe second, I have a Cognitive Surplus notebook that's first in line...

At Friday's Pelikan Hub here, my name was drawn for some goodies. A No 18(A4) Rhodia Dot Pad (black cover), two bottles of ink - Pelikan 4001 Violet (30 ml), Edelstein Topaz, a Pelikan Twist. Also came home with the Pelikan Passion magazine and paper Pelikan sent for all registered attendees. In addition, a Platinum Preppy (03) Both pens came with cartridges. I suspect the Twist is Black, Blue or Blue Black, the Preppy is Red as is the pen.

@Runnin_Ute I have a Pelikan Twist in apple candy red with a lime green section. It’s a sneaky Christmas pen for me. I bought a converter for it probably from Jet Pens under recommended parts. I hope you like yours. Nice winnings too. I wish I could have gone. I did get out yesterday to Five Below and Barnes and Noble, which was at most two hours. Driving to Crown Center for the Hub would be close to two hours round trip. It’s more likely 45 minutes each way. A pen club friend picked up the Pelikan swag for me.

I always think the name is candy apple, but it’s apple candy

Paperblanks's 85gsm, 100gsm, and 120gsm papers perform quite differently. Those are just the three most common types the brand uses; if I recall correctly, there are also some Paperblanks products that use 80gsm paper.

@MisfitI blush to say I have a number of them, never used yet. The one I did test for ink reaction, and which I'm going to use soon, is the Astronomy star chart. Numbering the pages seemed to indicate it is OK with fp ink, although not great. But then, you can't have everything in one package...

Waiting in the stack are Models of the universe, Constellations, Planetary motion, Pythagoras, and Solar system. These days I am a high school physics teacher...

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
