Twisbi 700R - Does It Post?

Makir

Recommended Posts

So I just bought a 700R last week. I had checked out a few reviews and nowhere in any of them did it say the 700R does not post. Well here I am today with a non-posting 700R. Is this normal? I prefer to post my pens when writing so I don't have to worry about the cap at all.

I don't have a 700r, but I do have a 700 and a couple of 580's. None post but, even with my large hands, they have sufficient length not to need posting for a comfortable fit. Don't know what to say about concern for the cap. I usually just lay it down on the desk above my writing area, but if I'm making quick notes, I hold it in my left hand as I write with my right hand.

Those are large pens with heavy caps. I don't believe they were meant to be posted. It would make it very top heavy.

I can assure you will soon get used to holding the cap with your other hand. I don't like posting my caps either.

I only post if the pen is too small to hold properly without cap (ex. kawecos, stipula passaporto)

I bought a 700R couple of weeks ago and mine posts really securely over the knob. While the cap doesn't screw on the back like the mini, there shouldn't be an issue with it posting.

Have a look at my Instagram :)

Vac 700R posts securely but heavy cap makes it top heavy and unusable for me. 540 / 580 can not be posted.

My TWSBI Vac 700's cap posts securely onto the barrel. My 580ALs all post securely, though only onto the piston knob (as expected though).

Just wanted to chime in on this. I wear a men's large, USA glove. My new, for 7-2019, TWSBI VAC 700R does not fit tight enough to post. But, I don't mind as the weight offsets the pen to much to the rear, for my taste. Love the caps ability to seal the nib so well! My ink starts straight-away after resting for several days. Nice pen, IMO!

Glad to have joined the FPN!

Have a nice weekend!

Yes they do, but a tall pen and a heavy cap don't make for a particularly comfortable combination when posted

I struggled with this question before I bought mine. Most expensive pen I had purchased up to that point. When I got it, it posted but way too long. I think Goulet's videos and descriptions make it pretty clear it is not meant to be posted, so maybe I just lucked out.

I have a 700R that I bought a year or two ago (more than 1 but no more than 2) and mine doesn't post at all. There is a silver band just below the black filler knob that will not go past the threaded section of the cap which means the cap will not hold on the body.

Yep. The cap band on mine fits snugly on that band, so it posts pretty securely -- though in well over 2 years I've only posted it 2 or 3 times. It's too long and back-heavy. If posting is a necessity, pick a different pen. Even if you luck out and yours will post, it won't be something that you enjoy. But, it's a perfect size without posting.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
