Do You Post Your Mb 149

I'm sure this has probably been discussed before, but I've been wondering. Do many users post the cap while using the 149?

If you don't, why not. Does it make the pen awkward and top heavy to use? Are you concerned about marring the finish?

I'd appreciate your comments!

Yes. I like the balance of the pen this way. I don't mind the little micro-scratches where the cap touches the back end of the barrel of the pen.

No I don't. In fact I don't post any of my pens because I prefer to write without pens posted and I don't like to scratch my barrels. So yes I am concerned about marring the finish

I have to post my Montblanc Boheme and my Kaweco Sports. That's about it. :)

I bought a Sheaffer Targa Medici Diamond finish, and the top part of the barrel, where a previous owner posted the cap, regularly goes much darker than the rest of the pen, no matter how I clean it. I've tried everything I can think of to prevent it happening and nothing works. It is just so weird.

I do not post the 149, or any others for that matter. The little Mozart is the only one.

Yes.

I used to post it all of the time, but (lately) I've taken to writing with it unposted for short sessions - and find it surprisingly comfortable. But, for longer sessions, it's always posted - as are all of my pens. I've written like this all my life.

Yes, it will leave marks on the barrel, eventually.

I was interested in buying a Marc Newson FP. Although I wasn't happy about it being a cartridge pen, the fact that it couldn't be posted was the main reason I didn't buy it.

Nope. I don't like the balance. I even prefer the pre 1970s 149s because they use a much lighter piston mechanism keeping the back of the pen lighter. Forget adding the weight of a cap all the way back there! :)

I don't post any pen. I guess I'm just too lazy. I just lay the cap down on the table

No, never. I lent my sister my 149 last week and she went to post it, it felt terrible seeing my pen subject to such abuse so I took the cap away from her!

No, I don't post the cap. Even in my big hands the pen is large enough to hold comfortably, it also improves my writing speed. Cap is usually placed on my ink towel above the paper.

I would have done that too. Well, apart from the fact that I don't have a sister and I would never lend anyone my 149 that is. :D

~ No.

For photos, to prevent the nib from turning pens are usually temporarily lightly posted.

Otherwise, for daily use, unposted.

The only pen I post is a platinum Mozart EF.

I personally think the 149 is too large to post, but then again I never post any of my pens- particularly LEs which are not playable anyway.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
