What Is An Inkwell?

I've had him for years - long before he was useful. My husband's laser thermometer wasn't useful either, until I started cooking with it.

Well, you need a stove, too.

A small bottle meant to hold ink; often designed as a desk accessory. When I was in school they sat in a hole at the upper right edge of each desk. You could dip your pen when needed.

The inkwell in the upper right corner is a real stinker for left handers. My experience, anyway.

I went to school in the 1960s, and an inkwell would have been an item of much curiousity.

That seemed to be easily remedied. They forced me to write with my right hand.

Get to a pen show where there will, no doubt, be a vendor or two with ephemera, including ink wells. I bought a lovely, double-glass ink well of French origin at the San Fran Show last year....sorry no pics here with me!
