Kwz Inks

Does anyone have much experience with these inks? I only have two, and the only thing that's stopping me from getting more is that they seem to dry start in each pen I've tried them in; a Carene, Vanishing Point, Pro Gear and L2K.

 

KWZ Cherry is deep and delicious, well lubricated once it gets going and provides some shading opportunities. Likewise for Azure #4, where "deep and delicious" shall be subbed out for "epic and vibrant".

 

Each of the pens I mentioned above are well behaved with every single other ink I've tried.

 

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I have experienced dry start with Northern Twilight, but all the others I've tried are fine.

I've not had any problems with hard starts or dryness with any of my KWZ inks. The vast majority of my pens are broad nibbed and wet writers.

I have honey and Iron Gall Green #something-or-other, and they have never misbehaved in any way whatsoever.

No problems here with Azure #5 in a Lamy 2000 Medium, Pilot Ch92 Medium or Bock Titanium Broad

 

No problems with Iron Gall Turquoise in a Lamy Safari Fine or Twsbi Eco Broad

 

These are the only pens I have used either of these inks in. Azure #5 is currently my favorite ink.

I've tried a handful of their inks (Iron Gall Gummiberry, Foggy Green, Honey, Turquoise, Northern Twilight), and I haven't had any flow issues (unless I let a pen sit unused for a couple weeks).

I like KWZ Inks a lot. I have had trouble with KWZ Cherry, but I have only had it in one pen, which was a Kaweco Sport (which from experience is a dry pen), so I have always blamed the pen for that. Maybe I should try the ink in other wetter pens and see if it may be the ink instead.

KWZ IG Blue Black #1 has been in one of my pens, a Taccia, since last September. No flush, no clean, no problem. Starts first time every time, even after weeks of no use.

 

KWZ Blue Black (non IG) has lived in my Lamy 2K for months and months. No hard start problem.

 

KWZ Pea Green has lived in my Pilot 78G for as long as I've owned the ink (years). No hard start problem.

 

KWZ Hunter Green has lived in my VHS for probably a year. No hard start problem.

 

I could go on and on and on and on I highly and wholeheartedly recommend their inks.

Over six weeks in a pen and you haven't used a ½ ml fill? Unless you're using Quick, or Sheaffer, or Waterman or the like I think it's unrealistic to expect inks not to begin evaporating over such a length of time. I know it's heresy here to advocate having only one or two pens inked at a time, but unless you write a good amount there's no reason to have a pen filled with ink that goes unused.

 

Still your page looks great to me.
