What's Your Fantasy Ink

Misbehave how? Damage or stain the pen? Using Pilot Prera and a Pelikan M400.

I have used Shigure in a Pilot Prera and a Waterman Gentleman and had no trouble, either with flow or with cleanup. I cannot comment on whether it would stain a clear eye-dropper pen, but it hasn't stained my converters.

I haven't tried it in a vintage lever or button filler and probably will not, because it is saturated enough that I would worry about being able to flush it completely.

Noodler's Habanero without all of the normal problems of Noodler's inks - most notably infinite dry time.

If Sailor could make the same color of Habanero, I would throw my wallet at them.

:puddle: amazing shading

AGREED. And maybe with a touch of sheen, while they're at it? ;)

My fantasy ink would be a red version of Diamine Registrars. I've used it for a decade in a pen, without any of the flushing so often recommended, and never had a problem. Scabiosa is close, but not red enough (and not quite as completely hassle free as the Diamine is).

Well this is an old thread, but I officially have a fantasy colour. We just bought a Mazda6- my first choice was the Deep Crystal Blue Mica, but we ended up with our second choice. Soul Red Crystal. I only have one red ink, Diamine Oxblood, but if I could find an ink that looked like Mazda's Soul Red Crystal.. wow that would be something.

:D Add in a touch of Sargasso Sea, and you're all set!

OOOO YES YES YES

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hmmm. You might try De Atramentis Dante Alighieri/Ruby Red. Hard to tell, though -- in the video, the color seemed to vary depending on the environment....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Don't know until I try, and I will! Thanks. Yeah, the paint on the car is designed to change from light to dark depending on ambient light. It's kind of liquid- Like I said, I originally wanted a deep classy blue, but wow. The red on that car is fantastic.

I use Private Reserve Purple Mojo. My present fantasy ink is the same but fast drying, totally waterproof, non-fading, and chemically bleachable.

KWZ IG Red #3 might be something to look into. A bit wetter than Diamine Registrars, but a really nice red that darkens a bit when oxidized.

As for the original question, my fantasy ink would be a dark brown Iron Gall ink, there are a number of light brown IG's out there but not a solid darker one...

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA
