Martemodena Delta Dolcevita

I was wondering whether anyone else has been having the same issue I have been having with my Delta Dolcevita. It seems to be leaking from the fusion nib. Thought it was leaking from the body of the fountain pen, but it is actually leaking from the fusion nib itself. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue? What have you done to fix it?

Nibs don't leak -- it might be set wrong with the feed, or loose in the section, or the converter isn't fitting tightly enough ... are you certain the nib and feed are aligned properly in the section?

O.K. I am not explaining clearly and perhaps that is why passersby have not attempted to answer a question by someone who can't have this pen only on the planet or have this issue ever with a fountain pen. I can say the cap when I unscrew it has ink inside of it to the point it has to be blotted dry. Also, the area around the fusion design on the actual nib has ink as an outline. Also, on each side of the nib on the underside where you can see feed has ink.

Now, I have no idea the workings of a fountain pen, I am not a newbie, though. However, for the sake of clarity, it is not literally leaking, but having other fountain pens, know it is not supposed to have to be cleaned so often or watched in order to make sure there is not more ink in the aforementioned places then on the page. Apologies, you are right New Yorkers should be clearer in the description of their issue being experienced. Hopefully, a little clearer and thanks for the possible areas which might be causing the issue being experienced.

Please forgive me if I was too blunt. I'm a New Yorker from Wisconsin. It's more the Wisconsinite in me than the New Yorker.

That's a much clearer explanation of the issue at hand -- and happily, short of a crack in the section, I'd start by flushing the pen and letting it dry. If you have some silicone grease, put a little around the base of the converter, taking care to not get any on the inside edge of the converter's opening, and carefully place it firmly on the section nipple, so the silicone makes a good seal without getting into the nipple. Then fill your pen and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, I'm guessing the nib and/or feed slipped a little in the section and need to be reset, which is pretty easy to do, but we'll save that for when/if the converter proves to not be the culprit.

Thanks. This one does not work with a converter, though. It has a piston filling system. I do have some silicone grease and will try and see whether the suggestion works. This is my first Delta and so I am trying to discover what is wrong if anything is wrong. I would love to buy another one I have had my eyes on, not this particular version but would like to seek a solution first before investing.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
